Apple Admits MobileMe Lost Messages

July 26, 2008

Apple has admitted that MobileMe lost messages yesterday. Last Friday a serious problem with one of the mail servers blocked 1% members’ access to their MobileMe mail accounts. After a team restored limited web access yesterday, the affected members can use their browsers to read (mail that arrived since last Friday but not before), send and receive new mail. Approximatedly 10% of the message received between July 16 and July 18 reported loss in the affected accounts. The full access restoration for all the accounts expect to finish by the end of next week. The team has also fixed more than 70 bugs including one that was preventing MobileMe IMAP mail folders from syncing correctly between the web app and Mac OS X Mail or Outlook, plus others correcting display issues in Calendar and in general enhancing the performance of their web apps.
