casio exilim ex s880 Oh. My. God. Casio Provides Easier Way to Post to YouTube

Unlike some, I find YouTube both creepy and depressing. It’s like all the amateur video sucks the quality out of other forms of entertainment, until one day all that will remain will be pictures of cats doing funny tricks. Thus, one can imagine my chagrin at Casio’s new Exilim EXS880 and EX-Z77, which in addition to being 8.1- and 7.2-megapixel digital cameras in their own rights, with most of the trimmings, can also take YouTube-ready video (640X480 H.264) and, allegedly, upload it to the quality black hole in two easy steps. Reasonably priced at $299.99 and $229.99, it  seems like a conspiracy.

Ever wanted to star in your own commercial and sell  your own products? Well, now you can! Unlike Ebay where you just upload your images and write long descriptions of what you’re trying to sell, here’s a whole new way to market yourself as well as your items. It’s where Craigslist and Youtube converge in a community where you’re your own spokesmen! Just don’t do something like HeadOn.

With so many people making their own videos with their digital cameras and uploading them to YouTube, there was bound to be a day where hey, why not? Let’s just make a website where e-commerce is easy-to-use and marketing your products, new or used comes even easier. If you’re an undiscovered commercial star, then this should be a goldmine since your audience reaches plenty more. So…start selling yourself!

lgmuziq LG Muziq Revealed by Sprint

Gladly, Apple isn’t the only company planning to release a new phone. We’re all thankful to see that Sprint is about to ride the wave as well. Sprint teamed up with LG recently to create the Muziq, otherwise known as the LG 570. Features include a built-in FM transmitter, a 1.3-megapixel camera, a camcorder, stereo Bluetooth and a built-in MP3 player. The phone also sports bandwidth accessories and can access several media outlets such as Sprint TV and the Sprint Music Store. While no iTunes or YouTube, this is sure to give the iPhone a run for its money.

Here’s my idea of a video camera! It’s bad enough I lug around a DSLR still camera plus 4 lenses. When I go video – it will be this!

Check out the size – yes, that’s a flip-out USB port for downloading 640×480 MPEG4 at 30 frames-per-second to your PC or Mac. Add a small LCD to see what if you’ve captured is YouTube worthy, a cable to watch videos on your TV in seconds, and a friendly user interface that requires no manual. (did anyone really read those things?)

And the best part – it’s only about $100 bucks for the 30-minute version on Amazon! The 60-minute model is about $130.\

Only downside – it runs on AA batteries.Get those chargers out.

news iPhone Making Its MarkiPhone Making Its Mark

Not a day goes by where I don’t hear the question, “When does the Apple iPhone come out?” Some of us are already blacking out June 29th to wait in line for what could be argued as the most anticipated cell phone to launch since the Motorola Razor. Yeah, since the Razor…a phone that you probably replaced not once, but twice or even more. Like most people, I’ve always been skeptical about new cell phone models that can act as PDAs, especially ones that are meant to experience a high volume of data download. From managing your music, to pics, to videos, and other files, the iPhone is claiming to be the IT phone. The mother of all phones that can do no wrong, that’s why it doesn’t need a stylus…something that my brother always loses.

The biggest concern of any phone is the battery life. What good is the phone if I always need a charger nearby? With all the applications that will be used on Apple’s iPhone, it doesn’t seem likely that the battery life will be great, right? WRONG! Apple just announced that they’ve been fine tuning their baby so those of us ready to purchase it (4GB $499, 8GB $599) will be totally satisfied with the investment. So with the longer battery life than initially expected, including 8 hours for talk, 6 hours for Internet, 7 hours for video playback, and 24 hours for audio, it definately is “raising the bar”.

Apple also made sure the phone couldn’t be easily banged up by changing from a plastic surface to what they call “optical-quality” glass, virtually making it scratch proof for all the butterfingers out in the world. If that doesn’t make you excited, how about a new YouTube application that allows you to access over 10,000 videos when it launchs and every YouTube video by the end of the year? So, with its WiFi capability you’ll never be board at the bus stop.

If you ask me, I’d have to get a bit cliche and tell you this will be the best thing since sliced bread.
