Mio’s DigiWalkers

Mio’s DigiWalker line of GPS units has two newcomers: the C523 and C525 models, which will release in Japan later this month. Both have Windows CE.NET 5.0, a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 display, 2GB of internal memory, an SD card slot for expansion, handle MP4, QuickTime, AVI, 3GP, ASF and WMV. Ditto for the C525, but add a built-in extendable antenna.
All available by September 26th for around $500.

Samsung Yepp YP-P2 Overcomes Goofy Name with Some Style

Samsung’s been making some nice things lately, but what’s with the naming? The Yepp (Yepp?!?) YP-P2 is a lovely critter, and quite svelte: only 100 X 52 X 9.2mm. That’s thinner than a runway model… (I’ll leave it at that). Specs:
- Up to 8GB Flash storage
- 3-inch, 428 X 240 pixel touch-screen
- Integrated speaker and mike
- Integrated FM radio
- Integrated Bluetooth
- Plays MP3, WMV, WMA, H.264, and MPEG-4 (ASF)
No pricing or availability yet, but I imagine some folks will be hankering for this one.

Commodore: Not Just Computers Anymore

Capitalizing on its return to (relative) fame, Commodore is expanding beyond computers with the Gravel C200 medial player. Beyond the strange name (Gravel?), it looks like a pretty mediocre device. First, it’s a little, well, not good looking, and has some unimpressive specs: 1.8 inch color screen, plays MP3, WAV, WMA, MPEG 2, MPEG 4, DivX, Xvid, and WMV (which is admittedly a nice long list), and is available with 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB models. Pricing and availability unavailable, but I’m not sure anyone’s going to be waiting that impatiently.
