Creative’s keeping mum on this new ZEN, but Amazon’s singing like a canary. Specs:

• Video formats supported: WMV, DivX, MJPEG, Tivo to Go.

Pricing ranges from $149 to $299, depending on storage. They’ll be out soon.

At first, you’re probably thinking like I was. Sandisk Sansa Clip: okay, so, it’s cute, clippable, holds 1Gb or 2GB, nice little OLED screen, FM and voice recorder, and MP3 and WMA support. That’s all find and dandy, but DAP’s like this are a dime a dozen nowadays. Then you see the price, $40 for 1GB and $60 for 2GB, and the picture comes into focus. Not a bad little player for that kind of money.

It’s tiny, it’s cute, and it holds 2GB of songs. It also has an FM tuner and sneaks in 30 days of Yahoo Music, gratis. It does support a paltry list of formats: MP3, WAV, and WMA, doesn’t record voice (but does have line-in recording), has an itsy-bitsy screen, but hey–it’s tiny and cute. What more can you ask for, especially at $100.

Okay, I’m going to go ahead and make the assumption that I’m behind the times, and that both XM and Sirius are designing radios that will work with both systems. Or, that when the merger’s complete, there will be only one system. Because they both continue to release new, competing radios. This one, the Stiletto 2, has been talked about forever, but it’s finally been introduced. Some nice specs:

• Capture up to 100 hours of programming
• "Love" button to capture the current song
• Wi-Fi
• Also plays MP3 and WMA files
• microSD slot
• 2.2 inch color display
• Up to 20 hours of use

It ain’t cheap, at $349.99. But it’s sure purty!

Samsung’s been making some nice things lately, but what’s with the naming? The Yepp (Yepp?!?) YP-P2 is a lovely critter, and quite svelte: only 100 X 52 X 9.2mm. That’s thinner than a runway model… (I’ll leave it at that). Specs:

• Up to 8GB Flash storage
• 3-inch, 428 X 240 pixel touch-screen
• Integrated speaker and mike
• Integrated FM radio
• Integrated Bluetooth
• Plays MP3, WMV, WMA, H.264, and MPEG-4 (ASF)

No pricing or availability yet, but I imagine some folks will be hankering for this one.
