Planex Plans GW-USMicronN Wireless-N Adapter for December

Planex plans to release the GW-USMicronN Wireless-N adapter next month. The unit allows you to make a painless upgrade to Wireless-N, providing you have the appropriate router. It’s possibly the smallest 802.11n USB adapter to date, 1/6th the size of the D-Link it is pictured with.

Early testing has indicated that it’s competitive with other models and features the same security measures to boot. The adapter will cost $30 and arrives in the US in December.

Psyclone TouchCharge Kit Powers Xbox 360 Controllers Wirelessly

Wireless charging kits aren’t exactly new, but the Psyclone ToughCharge kit for the Xbox 360 might just take the cake in the innovation department. The unit has you loading the 360 controller with the special bundled battery and then has you plugging the base plate into the wall. That’s pretty much it. No wires to speak of and nothing extraneous to worry about. The only catch is, seemingly, the unit only supports one controller at a time. Also, it costs $70. Still, having no power as you approach the end boss of the final level can be pretty frustrating.

Belkin and Monster to Delay Flywire Wireless HDMI

Belkin and Monster announced that they won’t be able to make their deadline of Winter CES to showcase their new wireless HDMI technology.

The wireless system is said to be able to toggle between 6 different audio/video sources, up to full 1080p, wirelessly across the room and through walls.

Sony showcased similar technology recently that is limited to Sony products but the Belkin/Monster solution is universal. Latest release date is 2Q 2009.

Expose Wi-Fi Network Passwords with WirelessKeyView on Windows

By default Windows hides WEP and WPA keys stored on your PC to connect to various Wi-Fi networks, but freeware utility WirelessKeyView lists them for you. When you’ve forgotten that Wi-Fi network key, run WirelessKeyView to see all the networks your Windows PC has ever connected to using its default Wireless Zero Configuration mechanism. This utility doesn’t reveal keys stored by third-party network connection software. Delete keys from old networks that you no longer need, and easily copy keys to the clipboard to send or save. Now this isn’t really the toy that you and your merry pack of colleagues should get while working in the office as it certainly won’t catch the affection of your boss’ eye. Portable WiFi Radios

Cambridge Consultants announced the Iona WiFi radio at CES, renamed the RadioPro. It supports over 10,000 radio stations, wireless upgrade, and "full customization of the user interface and menus through a dedicated software development kit (SDK)." Radios based on this platform are expected to be in stores around Christmas.

New Laser Mouse

Not much info on this new version of Microsoft’s laser mouse, but we do have pics. It seems that the finger and thumb grooves have been removed and the surfaces have been smoothed all over. The thumb inset appears to be much deeper, and the thumb buttons have also been streamlined to be thinner.
