
Pharos Announces Traveller 117 and 127 – GPS-enabled Smartphones

Pharos has officially unveiled two new additions to their Windows Mobile GPS smartphone lineup. The Traveller 117 and 127 was announced by the company today. The units are both GPS-enabled phones that feature tri-band 7.2Mbps HSDPA. The phones also have a 2-megapixel camera and VGA touchscreens. The 127 features a QWERTY keyboard.
On the GPS front, Pharos Smart Navigator gives traffic updates, dynamic POI and FollowMe services all embedded within the phone. The units will be available on December 1st and will retail for around $530.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Receives Black Friday Release Date – November 28th

Sony Ericsson has finally put a firm US release date on their XPERIA X1 smartphone. Fans of the WinMo 6.1 powerhouse can breathe a sigh of relief, as rumors of it’s release slipping into next year were entirely unfounded. The unit will be released on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Head on over to your favorite retail center on November 28th and battle it out with parents looking for a Wii in order to obtain this $799.99 smartphone. The company offers no word regarding a subsidized version for any US carrier.

AWIND introduces their MobiShow video and PowerPoint cellphone streamer

AWIND’s MobiShow is a compact, WiFi presentation device that allows for video and PowerPoint demonstrations on any VGA-connected display with no need for a PC. Finally, you can give that slideshow-enabled presentation on why your ex-girlfriend sucks without the need to lug around a cumbersome laptop. That’ll show her!
The MobiShow presents everything in 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution with transition effects. The device is powered by AWIND’s mTVic platform which allows the unit to bring content to the display from a PC or cellphone loaded with the prerequisite software. Click the link for a press release. HTC Elf Spotted in The Wild

HTC churns out some great products here and there. The 8525, even with WinMo, is a nice phone to have around and gets the job done. The Elf is no different, hopefully. Encased in a pearly white finish is an EDGE/GPRS/UMTS/GSM handset with 64MB of RAM, 128MB of flash, a 2-megapixel camera, and a 2.8-inch touch screen display. The Elf also includes a mini-USB, Bluetooth 2.0 and audio output.
