Brace yourselves – this guy in the picture doesn’t have pants on, GASP! Who wears flannel boxers anyway? Apparently Pat Connelly (above) does. He is , an ex-Midway employee, who is taking Nintendo to court.  A YouTube video up showing a Pat demonstrating something astoundingly similar to a Wiimote / Nunchuck… eight years ago. His demo shows his hacked-together controllers providing a surprisingly-responsive interface for a bit of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing on the Dreamcast. Connelly, says that he has had no formal involvement with the Wii, but holds the related patents and is taking Nintendo to the BANK.

Today, Wii owners in Europe, Japan, and the US can download a the new 3.0 firmware update. Look forward to a digital clock on the main menu, weather forecasts, and some aesthetic changes to the Wii Shop, as well as stuff to make it all a bit more user-friendly.

However, expect a message before updating that states: "If your Wii console has an unauthorized technical modification, this upgrade could cause interoperability of your console."

Well, what did you expect?

Reports are trickling in about a new Wiimote strap again. To provide extra protection for your windows and TV screens, Nintendo has added a locking mechanism to the strap as pictured above. Anyone seen one yet?

Pretty cool screen shots for the Soul Calibur coming out on the Wii. One of the most fun games I’ve played since it came out and I’m glad Nintendo is doing their duty by having Wii Heads out there in on the fun.  Go here for more.

It’s almost here…only the most anticipated game in my book.  Suuuuuuper Smmmmash Brooooosss!!!! Look at the screen shots, it’s so fantasically beautiful!  The Wii is definately going to have houses rumbling with this game.  If you’re a HUGE fan like me, there’s nothing like a melee of Nintendo characters battling it out.  I love that they added different and new characters, especially Wario, but I’m also disappointed because we can’t battle others online.  Oh well, it’s still pretty awesome. 

Samus is looking pretty hot don’t you think?  I knew there was something beautiful underneathe her hard exterior suit.  But, isn’t that with every woman?

The stages are neat too…check out Yoshi’s Land where the weather changes during play.
