Sector Compass Torch watch is a new watch that features an old technology, morse code. The watch has a small flashlight embedded into the side used to transmit morse code via flashes of light. For those of you that are a little rusty on your morse code, the watch has a little "cheat sheet" on the face of the watch.

Very cool watch, perfect for the Bear Grylls types out there, but unfortunately like all good things, only available in Japan. Retails for $620.

Nooka to Release Zon Timepiece – Features Interesting Display

Nooka is releasing their new timepiece, the Zon, next week. It features a 35 x 45mm dot-matrix display that shows the minutes of the day dotting into nothingness like a digital egg-timer. It can also show the usual numeric time readout. The watch also lists cities and time zones for traveling. The Zon comes in white, black or a mirror-like display. It is expected to cost $650.

Sega Toys to Sell Media Player Wristwatch

Japan’s Sega Toys division plans on releasing a watch with media player built-in. The watch, called Digipod Trek, is capable of playing music and video, displaying pictures and recording voice notes. It connects to your computer via USB and contains a speaker for sound with a headset jack on the side.

The toy will sell for $130.

Scope 2 LED Watch is totally cool

The Scope 2 RGB LED watch has been thrust upon the world and we may never be the same again. All of us children of the 80s just about passed out at the very site of this ridiculous looking thing. It just looks cool. Like it comes straight out of "Wargames" or that spy movie with the kid from "E.T." and Dabney Coleman.

The functionality, however, is a bit strange. Telling the time with this watch is like learning a new language. Green and red lines relay the hours and a contrasting color targeting box surrounds each five-minute interval. Confused yet? There’s more. Individual minutes form clusters of dots that sit off to the side. Yeah, so what if telling the time takes an hour? It looks cool. Isn’t that what matters?

The watch is out now and costs $200.

This watch is pretty rad. It not only tells the time, it also detects wifi in the environment around you, and for $30 i guarantee you that college kids everywhere will be sporting these bad boys and taking strolls around business parks. Frinternet (Free + Internet) anyone?

For $130 you can plug in Pinnacle’s HD Ultimate into your laptop and then watch HDTV.

This USB device has its own antenna, receiving HD broadcasts from the airwaves — unless of course, you live in the boonies. I don’t even know what I would get from airwaves, having had cable for so long.

But it’s an option for some of you. Btw, the desktop computer version costs $80.

It will also work with the iPhone when the phone is in airplane mode.

Yes or No? That is the Question

Ask this $160 watch from the UK’s Mr. Jones Watches a yes or no question, and if you don’t like the answer, just wait a second. You see, each second alternates between, well, "yes" and "no." I suppose if you really wanted to devote your life to the Fates, you could just think of the question in your mind, with your eyes closed, and then suddenly open them to see which answer is chosen. Or something like that. Probably not for life-altering decisions, really.

Control Your iPod with your Timex

This falls somewhat in the "But Why?" category, but in any case it looks like Timex will be releasing a version of their Ironman sports watches that will incorporate iPod control via RF wireless. It’ll also be a decent watch, if not the prettiest.

Invisible Face?

Isnâ€™t it unfair that itâ€™s not socially acceptable for men to wear jewelry? I mean, we like shiny things as much as anyone, right guys? Whether or not it was his intention (and Iâ€™m reasonably sure it wasnâ€™t), designer Philippe Starck has created a watch thatâ€™s effectively invisible, blending seamlessly into a lovely silver band that you can wear without feeling too girly (unless, you know, you like feeling girly). The crystal face of the watch has been flush mounted and electroplated to match the band to the point where you can barely (just barely) make out the handsâ€¦ Sure, it might be a little difficult to tell time with it, but it sure is pretty. Good thing itâ€™s a totally manly and practical watch, too. Yours for $150.
