Sony Blocks Content from Being Viewed on Xbox 360 Via Netflix Instant Watch

Various sources indicate that just hours before Microsoft’s Netflix-enabled Xbox 360 dashboard update hit, Sony made a lion’s share of their content unavailable for viewing on their rival’s gaming console. The same goes for Sony’s subsidiary Columbia Pictures. Netflix officials chalk it up to the "ebb and flow" of licensing agreements and say it’s only a temporary suspension. The Sony and Columbia content can still be streamed on other devices, just not on the Xbox. The console wars may be heating up again.
Netflix and Silverlight Team Up to Finally Bring NetFlix Instant Watch Feature to Macs

It has been a long time coming, but Netflix is finally bringing their beloved "Watch Instantly" feature to Macs. The popular DVD-sharing service will bring it’s streaming video technology and film library to Apple products via use of Microsoft’s Flash-esque Silverlight. The software will allow Netflix to institute the kinds of DRM on Macs they’ve been enjoying on PCs since the introduction of the instant service. The company touts the Silverlight partnership as bringing "breakthrough navigation for fast-forward and rewind" to Macs.
The company notes the service will only work on Intel based Macs, so maybe it’s time to finally get rid of that ancient G3. The service should drop any day now. Click the link for a full press release.
