Thin, Thin Voice Recorder

Meet the voice recorder that’s as thick as a couple of credit cards. Since it is only 6.5mm thick, it can be stashed in a wallet ready for when you need it. With 1GB of flash based storage that offers a 72-hour recording time and a USB connector that stores away, it’s a no-brainer great little item to have.

SanDisk Makes DAP That Makes You Go “Hmmm”

At first, you’re probably thinking like I was. Sandisk Sansa Clip: okay, so, it’s cute, clippable, holds 1Gb or 2GB, nice little OLED screen, FM and voice recorder, and MP3 and WMA support. That’s all find and dandy, but DAP’s like this are a dime a dozen nowadays. Then you see the price, $40 for 1GB and $60 for 2GB, and the picture comes into focus. Not a bad little player for that kind of money.
Olympus WS-331M Voice Recorder – For 23-Day Jam Sessions

Olympus makes a few of these voice recorders-cum-MP3 players, and they’re often decent–at recording, that is. The WS-331M can record for a whopping 23 days using its 2GB of internal flash RAM, and download recordings via USB Direct. Recording quality is probably superior, as usual for Olympus devices. $199 is a bit steep, but probably not for those who need to record for a long, long time. But remember: this won’t be replacing your iPod or whatever.
