The Colors in the Dell

New Inspirons are coming according to French forum lesDelliens
Rumor has it that the 1720 maxes out with a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T7500, a 17-inch WUXGA TrueLife display, 256MB of GeForce 8600M WP graphics, up to 2x 2.5-inch SATA disk with RAID 0/1 support, 802.11n and Gigabit Ethernet, lots of inputs and output and USB-only docking station.
The 1520 packs is similar with a 15.4-inch WSXGA+ TrueLife display and what appears to be a hybrid hard drive option and Blu-ray disc drive which is likely available for the 17-inch as well.
The 5.5-pound 1420 offers a 9-cell Lithium Ion battery option and the same HHD option only under a smaller 14.4-inch WXGA+ TrueLife display.

ATI HD2400 / 2600 Shipping Now

AMD is now shipping ATI Radeon™ HD 2400 and ATI Radeon™ HD 2600 graphics processors. Both deliver DirectX® 10 gaming and high definition video for Windows Vista®.
The new graphics cards will be available at online retailers within a few weeks from board customers including Asus, Club 3D, Diamond Multimedia, GeCube, Gigabyte, HIS, MSI, Palit, PowerColor, Sapphire and VisionTek.

In contrast, the ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 2900 XT is a high-end desktop card for gaming enthusiasts, and designed to be used in high-performance PCs with the fastest CPUs. In these environments, the CPU can perform software decoding of HD video without being overburdened and UVD technology is not required. The user will get a high-quality video experience (including watching Blu-ray or HD DVD movies) with any ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 2000 series card.

More Browser Choices

As if the Netscape vs IE vs Firefox weren’t enough to confuse a person, another browser is being thrown into the mix.
Apple is shipping the third version of the Safari WebKit-based browser overseas to compete with the big boys (IE, Firefox, and Opera) and … on Windows no less!
The Mac-only browser has a 5% market share, and it wants to copy what iTunes did, namely, to grow the Mac fanbase.
Apple claims their browser is up to twice as fast as the competition, and the public beta of Safari 3 is being released today as a free download for Mac OS X, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
So, which one are you using?

Microsoft Pressured From Google’s Complaint

Google, otherwise known as the search engine we all known and love, has recently filed a complaint against Microsoft for allegedly designing the Vista operating system to discourage the use of the Google search engine.
The U.S. Justice Department, finding the matter just as ridiculous as we all might, has taken Microsoft’s side, choosing to reject the formal complaint. According to the New York Times, the action demonstrates that nearly a decade after the U.S. government began its landmark effort to break up Microsoft, the Bush administration has changed course by defending the company against accusations of anti-competitive conduct.
Modifications are said to already be underway, so Google will be expected to make a return in the Vista operating system.

Microsoft Introduces ‘Milan,’ Bill Gates’ Answer to Another Multi-Touch Device

Well, not exactly, but if you had pockets as wide and deep as Sir William Gates, then you could probably squeeze one of these things in there. At the All Things Digital Conference 2007, Microsoft pulled the table cloth and revealed to the world its new "revolutionary" surface computing device christened Milan, which is bound to change how we casually drink coffee and read magazines and eventually distract us from such trivial activities. Running a modified version of Vista, the Milan focuses on touch screen gestures using the best input device available, the human hand–no mouse or keyboard required.
Unfortunately, the prohibitive cost of Milan will stifle any ordinary Joe from getting one of these babies, but expect to see them in the commercial arena, from casinos to Internet kiosks to a prequel to Minority Report. The possibilities are endless.Â
At last, we finally have an official Microsoft product to place our other beloved gadgets.Â
