Verizon’s USB EV-DO Modem Almost Available

Now, personally, I wonder a bit at the usefulness of a USB wireless broadband solution. I see the entire purpose of solutions such as Verizon’s implementation of EV-DO to be portable, meaning either integrated in a notebook or at worse add via PC Card or ExpressCard.
Obviously, though, Verizon disagrees, as they’re pretty darn close to releasing their Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U USB modem. It’ll have a dock, a removable battery for added power when necessary, and all that, but it’ll still be something hanging off the back (or front or side or whatever) of your notebook as you’re sitting in Starbucks sipping latte. I suppose they’re entitled to sell whatever they want, in this case for $179 after rebate and two-year contract.
Diabetes Phone

Finally a good idea with HealthPia’s diabetes phone which has received FDA approval " for its patent-pending technology that integrates a blood glucose meter with a standard-issue cellphone."
Specially equipped mobiles will contain a GlucoPack that allows you to test yourself and it seems that Verizon’s LG5200 will be the first off the line for consumers.
RAZR 2 V9m

Meet the RAZR 2 V9m which AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon all promise to have for you soon.
Prices will be $300 with a $50 rebate on Verizon, $250 on Sprint (both with a two-year contract), and $300 on contract with AT&T.
Google Rumors

With Google phone rumors flying everywhere, I thought I would indulge. If I were Verizon, Cingular, or any other phone company I would be scared, a new innovative and borderline CRAZY idea has hit the rumor mill. Free Cellular phone service, thanks to – Google. You read it right. FREE cell phone service. How is is this possible?
Google has a plan. They are going to bid on a piece of the radio wave pie for 4.6 billion give or take a 100 million or thus providing a platform for new software developments in the cell phone industry. The plan is to make cell phone service like Internet browsers the web surfer can pick his/her favorite and go from there. Except in Google’s case, it would be free for the user by generating revenue from the ads placed neatly in the Gphone.
This is a very loose and sketchy rumor I know, but the bits and pieces I have gathered have gotten me excited – and you should be too!
Google Phone Rumors Fly

Rumors about about a Google phone are hot again after the Wall Street Journal reported that Google has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in its cell phone project and is negotiating with US and European mobile operators.
Reuters company, Anian, says T-Mobile, owned by Deutsche Telekom, might team up with Google along with France Telecom’s Orange, which would sell the phones.
