Rumor – Blackberry Storm Available for Pre-order at Bestbuy

According to rumors circulating the blogging world, Bestbuy will begin to take pre-orders for the upcoming Blackberry Storm for a $50 deposit. No release date has been announced yet but according to other rumors the phone is due to launch sometime in the middle of November.
The phone is the first model released by Research in Motion to be completely touchscreen. The device will be launching on the Verizon Wireless network as well as Vodafone later this year.
The specs of the device look sweet enough to challenge the iPhone. It includes: 3.2 megapixel camera, video recording, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, accelerometer, bluetooth and GPS. I want one even though I’m absolutely loving my day old Blackberry Bold.

Verizon to End Pay-as-you-go Data Plans – Will Make Other Changes

According to a leaked document within the company, Verizon will soon be killing pay-as-you-go data plans. Starting on November 14th, every new PDA / smartphone launched will require a data plan of $29.99 or more monthly. Also, the document states that sometime in 2009 "select" Mobile Web 2.0 devices will also require a monthly data plan. No word on what devices this would apply to, however.
