Verizon’s launch of the BlackBerry Storm has been going swimmingly, according to various retailers. The phone is sold out nearly everywhere, and the online store is racing to fill the orders of thousands upon thousands of eager buyers. RIM is on track for a hit.

The Samsung Saga is now available online at Verizon. This extremely blue smartphone features globetrotting GSM and is CDMA-enabled. It sells for $199.99 after a mail-in rebate and an agreement to a two year contract. Currently, the unit is only available on Verizon’s website. You won’t be able to walk into a Verizon store and pick one up until December 1st.

AT&T bought Centennial Communications Corp today for $944 million. The move was intended to improve AT&T’s coverage in the Midwest, Southeast and Puerto Rico. The purchase will add over 1.1 million customers to the company’s 79.4 million person base. The move follows Verizon and their purchase of Alltel last week.

AT&T assures Centennial customers that their service will be unaffected and they will enter into their billing system in time.

While Verizon "twiddles" their thumbs about the release of the Blackberry Storm, Vodafone is taking some initiative in getting the device to market. The phone is going to be available on the Vodafone network before Verizon and the people at T3 have posted pictures of it’s unboxing.

Once again it looks like Europe is going to beat North America to the punch about their market readiness of devices. All I know is that I can’t wait to test one out.
