Those enterprising fellows at Poor Life have come up with a Clothes Pin USB concept that could save all of us some headaches. The system works by attaching a tiny USB drive to the end of a clothes pin, as it firmly clasps to your person. This would surely help the tons of data that is lost daily via those tiny drives. Now we all can inconspicuously tote around important files with a worry-free mind.

Western Digital recently strayed from its platter-based roots and released an HD media streaming unit. The WD TV HD Media Player claims to "turn your USB drive into an HD media player, allowing you to watch your favorite HD movies on your TV." Basically, it allows you to plug in your USB key or USB hard drive and play back multimedia clips up to 1080p on your HDTV. The unit works via the HDMI / composite outputs. The box is sized at 1.6- x 4.9- x 3.9-inches and is priced at $129.99. The company unveiled the product with little fanfare, as it’s already sitting on store shelves.

Another version of the USB drive – this time in a wine bottle. Honestly, unless there is wine with it, I will pass.

But for those who want all the info: this 1GB USB key comes with information about the Grand Cru Classé winery in Bordeaux, including a film on Pontet-Canet, a tasting of the last vintages by Michel Rolland, cell phone ring tones with wine-connected themes, wine cellar management software, a reference of Bordeaux Grand Crus Classés wines and a desktop theme for your PC dedicated to wine. Are sales that slow?

I have nothing against wealthy people. In fact, I’d like one day to be just like them. For example, I’d love to drop $699 on this Lacquer and Palladium 2GB USB Key from S.T. Dupont, even though I could go to my local Costco and get three 2GB USB drive for $49.99 ($39.99 after instant rebate). The fact that they’re also available in turquois blue, soft pink, and black would just make me want to buy more than one, were I able. 

Waht if you had the greatest idea that will change mankind forever, but no paper to write it down on? You could write on your hand or arm, but that could get smudged and the world would suffer forever.

This would not be a problem if you had this handy gadget, the digital pen with USB drive. It basically records what you write and you can download it later. It will transform notes and sketches to a computer and notes to text.
