Black Friday Bloodshed – Two Dead After Shooting at Toys R Us
News sources report that two men were killed during a shooting inside of a Toys R Us in Palm Desert, California yesterday. Three people have been arrested, including one juvenile.
The shooting was apparently the result of an altercation between two teenage girls shopping for Black Friday sales. The shooting went down between two separate parties and everyone was evacuated from the store.
A manager at a gym across the street told the AP "Some people got into a fight…One of the guys here thought it was over a toy, but it got louder and louder and then there were gunshots." More on this as it develops:

Beetle War!

If you think the Discovery Channel is the best place to learn how beetles battle for insect supremacy, you’d be wrong. Why just watch them fight when you can actually be in control with these RC Battle Beetles from Sega-toys.
Using the dual channel remote you can move your beetle in any direction and even control one of the front appendages that can be used to flip your opponent. In between matches, or during the off season you can also use an included training target to keep your fighter in peak condition. Of course a quick recharge using the remote won’t hurt either.
The Battle Beetles are available from Toys.Brando.com.hk for $44.50 each, and come in a Brown Bot, Hercules Bot or Giraffe Stag-Beetle Bot versions.
thanks andrew!

Where Once We Used Sticks as Guns, Now We Have These

Jasman Toys is releasing Halo 3 replica weapons so realistic they might get your kids arrested. They have lights, recoil, infrared sensors to register "hits," and vents that open when the device "overheats." I’m putting those in quotes because I’m assuming–assuming, mind you–that it’s all simply simulated. $119 for the Plasma Rifle and $79 for the Pistol. They’re Covenant weapons, which will mean most to Halo fans.

Goooo GIANTS!!
With Baseball season in full swing and the Giants making a comeback (crossing fingers) I thought i would end my day with a state-of-the-art baseball. DigiBaseball is a ball not only tells you how fast you’re pitching, but it also has the look, size, shape, feel and weight of a regulation baseball. Inside is a different story, with each throw, the tiny LCD screen instantly displays the speed of your pitch, up to 120mph!

The only bad part about this ball, is that you can’t hit it. Unless you get really frustrated that your weenie arm can’t pitch over 28 MPH!

Carpet Burn
Remember when you went to your Grandma’s house and you and your brother went bananas slipping around on old people carpet? Well, maybe it was just me but if you also enjoy slipping and sliding on carpet you are in luck! They’re called FunSlides Carpet Skates and they are deliciously brilliant.

Constructed with a friction resistant plastic base and foam foot grip, they have an adjustable hook and loop closure and are designed to fit up to a size 15 shoe. Once in place under your shoes, you can literally skate across any carpet surface and fly past the accounting wing at breakneck speeds. You’ve seen those little furniture moving pads (EZ Moves) that allow you to slide your couch into place vs. lift it? This is the same company, with a new use for their technology.
This get’s an AWESOME award
