Netflix and Tivo Announce Video-on-Demand Partnership

Netflix and Tivo have finally announced the type of partnership that we have all been waiting for. You can now watch streaming video from Netflix directly on your Tivo. This improves on the year old partnership that only allowed for manipulation of your online queue from the Tivo.
Netflix, the largest online movie rental service, now offers their movie streaming on Netflix boxes, PCs, Macs, Tivo and Xbox360 (starting November 19th with update).
According to a Netflix Press Release:
"Subscribers to Netflix and TiVo are avid movie watchers and this combination gives them immediate access to all of the great content available through TiVo and the thousands of additional choices available to be streamed instantly from Netflix."

DVRPics introduces your photos to Tivo

Tivo and iPhones finally play nice. DVRPics is a nifty $1 iPhone app that plays out exactly as advertised. It allows you to send photos from the comfort of your iPhone to the comfort of your living room Tivo system. How, comfortable!
The functionality is simple and the UI is clean and gets the job done. Chris Lundie, the developer, notes that a slideshow feature is forthcoming. What’s next? Dogs and cats playing together?

TiVo Offers Viewer Details

For those who value their privacy, be advised that TiVo is already selling advertisers second-by-second ratings of programs and commercials based on subscriber viewing habits.
TiVo is now planning to give its advertisers detailed profiles and demographic data of its users/subscribers.

New TiVo Features

TiVo’s Multi Room Viewing is finally a reality. Now you can stream shows between your TiVos (MRV) and copy programming from a TiVo to your PC (TiVoToGo), expand your TiVo with 500GB of space (that’s 65 more hours of HD), and use progressive downloads which gets you to your programs faster.
