Joost Introduces iPhone App That Streams Videos and Movies

Joost may have lost the online video war to Hulu a while ago, but they may have won the battle to bring the format to iPhones. The company has released a new iPhone app which streams over 46,000 videos for free, including full movies such as Men in Black and Starship Troopers.
Reviewers indicate that the app crashes more often than they’d like, and the navigation UI is a bit wonky. Still, having 46,000 movies at your fingertips wherever you are at any time is enough to deal with early version bugs. The app is out now and best of all, it’s free. What are you waiting for?

It is reminiscent of the Neuros-powered WhereverTV, but with fewer limitations. The unit will be released December 15th for $99.

Netflix Streaming Trial with Quantum of Solace Game

In preparation for the November 19th launch of the new Xbox 360 Experience, Microsoft and Netflix are really pushing the online streaming service on the Xbox 360. Packaged with the Quantum of Solace game for Xbox 360, Microsoft is including a 48 hour Xbox Live Gold trial along with a "code" for a 48 hour Netflix trial.
I personally use Netflix and absolutely love it. I barely even use the DVD feature because I prefer to just watch streaming movies on my computer, but when the new Xbox 360 Experience rolls out, I be sure to watch streaming movies on my 42 inch HDTV instead.

Netflix Instant Streaming Finally Available to Mac Owners

Netflix has finally opened their "Watch Instantly" feature to Mac owners. The service, which allows customers to stream from the Netflix catalog, has been a PC-exclusive since it’s inception. The service works via a Microsoft program called Silverlight. You’ll need to download that to your Mac before you can stream the night away.
Also, the company has imposed an Apple-like restriction on the number of devices your account can stream content from. As of now, it’s a six device limit.

Basically, it allows you to plug in your USB key or USB hard drive and play back multimedia clips up to 1080p on your HDTV. The unit works via the HDMI / composite outputs. The box is sized at 1.6- x 4.9- x 3.9-inches and is priced at $129.99. The company unveiled the product with little fanfare, as it’s already sitting on store shelves.
