Aigo has released a nifty little USB speaker that uses the power of elasticity to pump up the bass of your favorite jams. The Aigo E086 portable speaker is a 1.7 watt USB speaker that features a single 36mm driver, a 3.5-mm headphone jack and a 3-hour charge for up to 4 hours of usage.

The Japanese company has released the speaker for 27 American dollars or ¥2,580 if you happen to live in Tokyo. If you do live in Tokyo, may I suggest eating this. Yes, those are hot dogs in the crust.

Jean Michele Jarre has put down his synthesizer and colored cigarette in order to cobble together this stylish iPod dock/speaker system. It’s dubbed "Aerosystems" and it looks pretty dang cool. Not to mention phallic. We won’t be getting into that last part though .This is a family website.

Aimed at the high end audiophiles, the system is designed to produce high quality tune-age. The circuitry in the amp is able to add some back of the quality that is missing via MP3 encoding. Finally, we can end the digital versus analog debate once and for all!

Twin Solid State Musical Tesla coils playing Mario Bros theme song at the 2007 Lightning on the Lawn Teslathon sponsored by DC Cox (Resonance Research Corp) in Baraboo WI. The music that you hear is coming from the sparks that these two identical high power solid state Tesla coils are generating. There are no speakers involved. The Tesla coils stand 7 feet tall and are each capable of putting out over 12 foot of spark. They are spaced about 18 feet apart. The coils are controlled over a fiber optic link by a single laptop computer. Each coil is assigned to a midi channel which it responds to by playing notes that are programed into the computer software.

I went to Best Buy the other day, to get some sweet speakers for my computer at work, and as i was paroozing down the aisle i came across a demo video game called Guitar Hero. Cautiously i picked up the control (which was a guitar) and started my classic rock journey.

4 hours later, I bought some black spandex, a headband, got some tattoos and i was a rockstar – for real this time. I cannot express how cool this game is, by the end of it you’ll have groupies of your own, i promise. Go get it today.

Mobius Loudspeakers

The Mobius MKII loudspeakers claim a full 360 degrees of sound at reference-level quality. 38-inches tall, it uses four drivers in its 8" bipolar array.

Naturally they will be available in a variety of high-quality metallic and piano finishes.

If you have a spare $10,000 – $15,000 then you can pick these up next Spring.

Oh yuk – here comes the Barbie iPod dock with FM radio and alarm clock. Those super ugly flowers (is this from the 70s?) actually conceal speakers. Hey – if that kid can handle an iPod, then she can handle a "normal" dock.

If Darth Vader were a designer, i’m pretty sure this would be his greatest achievement (besides ruling over the galaxy of course). These little balls that oddly mimic the DeathStar are actually speakers. This MBS-100 is Sony Ericssonâ€™s answer to a portable cell phone speaker. The best part about this little guy is that it will actually stream music wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth.

Big deal though, until they can float around using the Force, i’m not interested.

German Physiks has come up with what everyone wants – speakers with 360-degree sound projection.

The Loreley Mk II uses four of the proprietary DDD "Bending wave" drivers in a line source array along with four 10" passive radiators and two 12" inverted dome subwoofers.

Pricing is as follows:
$165,995 with venner finish
$179,995 with high-polish veneer finish
$199,995 with carbon finish
