Nintendo 64 TIE Fighter Edition

The Nintendo 64 certainly wasn’t the prettiest console around during its time, and perhaps that helped it take the path of mediocrity by Nintendo’s usually high standards. Sure, AAA titles were there, but they were too few and far between, losing ground to Sony ultimately. Thankfully, we have talented folks living on this side of the galaxy that have come up with a TIE Fighter variant of the Nintendo 64, confirming the fact that Vader’s leet piloting skills were not developed during his younger days at the pod racing courses, but controlling Mario on the Nintendo 64 instead. This is definitely one of the most interesting case modification of a console ever.
Sweet Sony DVD Player

I want this baby! It boasts an 8-inch widescreen LCD and 180-degree swivel, six hours of battery life and purportedly plays every kind of DVD out there.
Add DivX support, an AV input / output, twin headphone jacks, digital audio output, a 12-bit / 108MHz DAC, and a worldwide power supply.
Not done yet — there’s a USB port for loading music or photos and a wireless remote for handling the controls from afar. Although, just how far way are you going to be from this thing while watching a movie?

Attacks on PS3

Hackers have pierced Sony’s PS3 anti-piracy defenses by cracking 1.10 and 1.11 firmwares enabling the console to boot illegal game copies.
Granted, they were not able to play, but Sony is taking this very seriously.
"Unfortunately, hackers will try to exploit any hardware system software," SCEA spokesperson Dave Karraker told GamesIndustry.biz.
"The best we can do as a company is to make our security that much stronger and aggressively pursue legal action against anyone caught trying to use an exploit in an illegal manner."
The neverending battle continues…

HDTV Competitor to LCD/Plasma/DLP not far off

Oh good Lord. I’m having enough trouble deciding which HDTV to sink several entire paychecks into. Now, I’m warned maybe I should wait for the next development: OLED, or organic light-emitting diode. Sony had a prototype at this year’s CES, and may have a small one on the market by year’s end.
