Sony Europe has completely removed the costly PS2 certification process in their region. This move, in effect, makes the console open source worldwide. There are 131 million PS2s in the world, so this move must be exciting to some studios looking to make games on the cheap. Except to see an influx of software from Russia and India in the near future.
