Personal Wind Power

A West Australian inventor has come up with a way for an individual person to harness wind power effectively. It consists of a modular turbine that sits atop your roof, and can create power for house consumption. Add some solar panels and you just might be self-sufficient! .

Customized USB Drive

Dressing up a USB drive is nothing new and here is yet another. CoMo Gadget’s solar-powered 4GB CM-1022 has a feature that allows the user to upload an image onto the built-in screen, which then flashes to get "maximum exposure."
How many people use their flash drives or computers, for that matter, in the bright sunshine?

Solar Powered Bike
"Aside from being fairly ugly and entirely imaginary, SunRed’s new snail-shell-based solar bike is completely awesome.

All the other blog posts I’ve read about this are reporting that the snail-shell covering will stow away during transport…but that’s not entirely accurate. Obviously, the nose panel (which contains the light and rear-view mirror) will remain in place, while the three back panels will fold away. Thus, the bike will still pull some charge while traveling.
Even though the bike has way more surface area than any other solar motorbike ever will ever again, it still doesn’t pull enough juice to be very useful. A full charge will only get you 13 miles at 30 mph."
mmm…maybe we should invest on more effective solar panels than anything else huh?

Universal Solar Charger

Brando’s Universal Solar Charger is portable power for the person on the move.
It will use sunlight or the 100-240V AC adapter to power any number of mobile devices via the use of adapters. For $69, it is a neat little solution for the worldwide traveler who needs portable power.
Features:
–Portable power back up for your devices
–High transforming rate when turn light into electric power
–High transforming rate when discharge electric power into electronic equipments
–Professional circuit to protect over charge, over current and high temperature when charge the built-in battery by DC or sunlight
–Professional circuit to protect over discharge
–Intelligent voltage adjusting, it can output voltage and current on 4 different levels. It will restrict the output current depends on different volt when discharge
–Double short circuit protection
–Tri-colored LED light to indicate charging or discharging

ISS Clear of Computer Bugs

Atlantis is heading home after the computer crisis at the ISS.
The crashed Russian computers are back up and running to spec, although we still do not know what caused the problem to begin with.
"Everything looked pretty good," said NASA spokesman Kyle Herring. "There was nothing that would give them any level of concern."
It is fortunate that Atlantis was there to help out while the six computer processors in the two systems started crashing. They control life support systems, plus the station’s stabilizers and directional thrusters. During the computer meltdown, Atlantis’ thrusters helped maintain the station’s orientation.
It is speculated that the work on the solar array triggered this mess somehow.
