HP indicated that a 3G WWAN-equipped version of their newest netbook, the HP Mini 1000, would be coming sometime in December. Christmas may be coming early this year folks. According to various sources, you can enable 3G on your Mini 1000s already via a simple hack.

max roam MAXRoam Offers Pay as You Go international Roaming with a SIM Card

You have probably heard of pay as you go phones, but there is also another option. MAXRoam is a reduced rate pre-paid SIM card that lets you add multiple numbers to the same SIM. For example, you could have a SIM card with four international numbers in Spain, Poland, Germany, and the US, all working seamlessly in almost any phone. It basically lets locals call you at local rates, and you can make calls at almost local rates when in country.

The card costs 29.99 euro with a 5 euro call credit and new numbers cost 5 euro a month. When you travel, you can add a new number to the SIM for a month or more, and remove the number you’re done with it. MAXRoam has a web-based system for adding numbers, and making payments. Of course, it would be even more convenient if you could simply use one number for all locations, and add new local areas, or countries to your account, rather than a new phone number each time.
