Samsung and Netflix in Cahoots After Soft Update

Samsung blu-ray players can now, after a software update, watch Netflix streaming content directly from the internet. Owners of Samsung players can manipulate their queues, browse, rate and watch movies.
Samsung is the latest partner to help Netflix transition from DVD to streaming on-demand content. Microsoft Xbox 360s have announced to join the partnership as well sometime in November.
Samsung Epix aka BlackJack III Sports Optical Mouse

Samsung released the latest evolution of their successful BlackJack smart phone named the Epix. The new innovations to the phone is the optical mouse built into the phone. In addition to the optical pointing, the phone also sports a touchscreen, 3G, wifi, and GPS.
I’m curious to know how the optical mouse compares with the Blackberry’s pearl. The phone is available immediately on AT&T for $199 /w a 2 year contract.
Samsung releases first US retail laptop

Samsung laptops have made it to these shores disguised by other manufacturers, but the company’s Q310 model is the first unit to officially hit America. There are two versions of the model available. The Q310-34G offers a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo T5800 CPU and a 250 GB hard drive. The Q310-34P offers a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU and a 320GB hard drive. Both models sport 3GB of DDR2 Ram, integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card and a 13.3-inch display. Also, expect the usual DVD burner, webcam and WiFi bells and whistles.
The company promises more laptops for the USA in the future.Oh yeah, and just because this is the land of the free, doesn’t mean the laptops are free. The Q310-34P costs $1,049 and the Q310-34G costs $1,249.
Samsung Unveils HZ1 Point and Shoot with 10x Optical Zoom

While most point-and-shoot cameras get a measly 3-5x optical zoom, Samsung said, "No, we can do better!" In their search for a greater zoom lens on a small camera, they searched the world for a way for this technology…only to find out that pouring money in R&D does the trick well enough. The HZ1 also has video recording at up to 720p, image stabilization (which is basically required at anything past 5x), and we’re betting will cost at least $400 big ones.
Samsung sued for defective Blu-ray players

Samsung has finally been sued by one of their Blu-Ray customers. The suit against Samsung alleges the company was "fully aware of the defective nature of the player (BD-P1200) at the time of manufacture and sale," and it also claims that the firm has "failed to provide a remedy consistent with the products’ intended and represented uses." Ever since Samsung began to sell Blu-Ray devices they’ve been plagued with problems, and they’ve released one firmware update after another, but according the this lawsuit, some customers are still not satisfied with the performance of their Samsung device. Some language in the lawsuit identifies, in particular, the device’s inability to play back select BD titles. Normally Samsung has very good products, however, it appears they’ve got a long way to go in the Blu-Ray department. Maybe this lawsuit will kick the quality control process into high gear.
