It’s tough for a cellphone to be small enough to fit in your pocket and also big enough to pack a pretty display capable of doing everything you need done. Samsung is attempting to bridge this gap with a cellphone that features a foldable OLED display.

The company showed off the concept phone at the FPD International show in Yokohama. It opens like a book and reveals the flexible OLED, which clocks in at 2.5-inches. The company has offered no word as to when or if they’d put the phone into production. It seems like a great idea, though. Below is a video of the presentation:

Finally, cellphone camera lag’s days are numbered. Scalado has developed a system that eliminates that bothersome lag. The system sends image data directly to the camera’s display and captures it as a modified SpeedTagged JPEG when it comes time to take a photo. The Scalado Camera Solution also provides instantaneous photos, real-time preview, and pan and zoom. Several camera manufacturers, including Samsung and Aptina, have already pledged to support the system. It looks like camera lag may finally go the way of the dodo. Thank goodness.

The Samsung Syncmaster 2494HS may be missing the Samsung-standard glossy black bezel, but it still sports some serious attributes.

The screen is 23.6-inches and the matte black motif manages to merge business with, well, business rather effectively. The resolution clocks in at 1,920 x 1,080 and the SyncMaster offers 300 nits of brightness. There is also a 5-millisecond response time, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, inbuilt stereo speakers and DVI / VGA / HDMI inputs.

The LCD goes on sale next month in Japan for approximately ¥40,000 ($423). It is rumored to be coming to the USA and European Union shortly thereafter.

Samsung has released their Q310-34P ultra-portable laptop. The folks over at Laptop Magazine reviewed it and it was found to be "handsome," the performance "smooth" and the endurance adequate.

The laptop has a 13.3-inch screen and it’s glossy display received special attention from Laptop Magazine. The only thing bad that can be said about it is the price, which clocks in at about $1,200.

The Samsung Saga is now available online at Verizon. This extremely blue smartphone features globetrotting GSM and is CDMA-enabled. It sells for $199.99 after a mail-in rebate and an agreement to a two year contract. Currently, the unit is only available on Verizon’s website. You won’t be able to walk into a Verizon store and pick one up until December 1st.
