News sources report that two men were killed during a shooting inside of a Toys R Us in Palm Desert, California yesterday. Three people have been arrested, including one juvenile.

The shooting was apparently the result of an altercation between two teenage girls shopping for Black Friday sales. The shooting went down between two separate parties and everyone was evacuated from the store.

A manager at a gym across the street told the AP "Some people got into a fight…One of the guys here thought it was over a toy, but it got louder and louder and then there were gunshots." More on this as it develops:

Kenyatta Hillman was pulled over for speeding in Orange County, California. After the police detected the odor of marijuana, they searched his car and found no trace of drugs. They did, however, decide his stolen Xbox 360 would make a fine surrogate. What’s the problem then?

It wasn’t stolen. They assumed it was because obviously people whose cars reek of drugs also steal consumer electronics devices. Hillman went to the police station later with a receipt to prove ownership of the system but the Xbox was still "lost in transit." No word on if Hillman has gotten the system back yet. I believe Flavor Flav had something to say about this. Watch the video below:

CDEX’s $500 meth gun is getting field tested in Arizona and it purportedly can detect minute quantities of methamphetamine residue on clothing and other surfaces using ultraviolet light. The drug gun will go into production later this year with improvements in spotting other drugs planned.

I’m all for police receiving the tools they need to make their jobs safer and more effective. I also think they should be made to look formidable, menacing even, when necessary. I’m all for police receiving the tools they need to make their jobs safer and more effective. I also think they should be made to look formidable, menacing even, when necessary. These Street Smart Police Units, however, or modified Segways, kind of make them look like geeks on wheels. Were I a hardened criminal, I’d likely get caught as I was rolling on the ground, laughing myself to tears. Of course, that could be the idea, but I sort of doubt it.
