PlayStation Home has been a long time coming, having been announced close to two years ago now. That may all change soon, however. PS Home director Jack Buster recently assured the world that the service would hit in 2008. "Like we’ve said, we’re excited about moving PlayStation Home into its Open Beta stage this year. Once we make the move to Open Beta, everyone will have access to PlayStation Home."

Last month, Sony gave us a treat with the release of firmware 2.50 for their PS3. Now, as a bit of Thanksgiving cheer, the company has readied firmware version 2.53. The update will hit the wires sometime on November 26th and will bring along full-screen Flash support. Finally. The update will also offer a power save option to save your dying controllers.

For those of you looking for a great deal on the PS3, look towards Amazon. The company is charging $199 for an 80GB PS3, bundled with a game, a Blu-Ray collection and a PS3 remote. Yeah, great deal right? There’s a catch. Such is life.

The deal is part of Amazon’s yearly "Customer Vote" promotion, which calls upon customers to vote on which bundle you’d want to buy given the chance. Sony has announced a PS3 bundle for the holidays. It includes the newly minted 160GB Playstation 3. It also includes a copy of the hit game "Drake’s Fortune." The bundles will start going on sale next week and will retail for approximately $499.

Walmart and Kmart are enticing consumers to get a jump on their holiday shopping by holding a series of "Black Friday-style" sales well before the Friday after Thanksgiving. The price cuts go into effect tomorrow, Saturday, November 8th. Walmart is offering up a 15.4-inch Compaq CQ-139WM laptop with 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive for only $298. They are also selling a PlayStation 2 bundled with a $30 Walmart gift card for $129 and a PlayStation 3 bundled with a $100 gift card for $399.

Over at Kmart, they are offering up a 32-inch Sylvania LCD HDTV for $439.99 and starting on Sunday, Wii Fit will be available for just $89.99, balance board included. Get shopping!
