Echo Translator gets the message across

Traveling in exotic countries can be quite an experience as you check out the local hotties. Unfortunately, language is a formidable barrier as you attempt to know another person, and body language can only do so much. Carrying a phrase book around will definitely hurt your street cred, so the next best thing would be downloading the Echo Translator application onto your cellphone. Boasting proprietary Phraselogic technology, the Echo Translator inputs words and phrases which result in a coherent sentence after some processing. The Echo Translator currently supports 25 languages and works with Java-enabled and Windows Mobile devices.

Samsung SLIQ Cell Phone

The concept SLIQ Phone by Samsung is all about sleek. It features a touch interface (think iPhone) which eliminates the conventional keypad making the overall usage experience a highly tactile one. It has a wide LCD screen that supposedly maximizes visual impact, allowing the user to benefit from several key features of the phone, including the 2 megapixel camera featuring Schneider-Kreuznach lens, video player and document viewer capacity.
The phone is amazingly thin (reportedly 10 mm), but it still touts an MP3 player and a music multitasking function for messaging. It also has an external memory slot, allowing the user to increase memory capacity for images, music and film clips.

Nokia’s New N76: Sleek and Sophisticated

The newly released and remarkably thin Nokia N76 is the first phone in Nokia’s all new series 60 3rd edition line-up. Each phone comes with Nokia’s new operating system, video-recording, bluetooth, USB, a camera on the outer shell, and 512MB worth of memory…suffice to say, it’s jammed full of goodies.
This shimmery-mirror like phone has just been released in Europe, and there’s been no word as to whether or not it will be picked up by a U.S carrier. Although if you click here you can purchase the phone for a hefty $570… the site will also tell you if the phone will work with your carrier…which is good because there’s nothing worse than spending all that money on a phone you can’t even use!

Helio Ocean Rolls Into Market

The much anticipated Helio Ocean hit the market Friday and hardcore Helio fans like LilPeaPod couldn’t be more excited. It’s being marketed as the "world’s first dual slider that has it all."
The "all" includes: full keyboard, separate numeric keypad, idle screen search, video, camera, e-mail, text messaging, AIM and audio with stereo bluetooth. Of course, it also supports Helio Music, GPS-enabled services and applications and photo caller ID.
While the device was released more than a month in advance of the iPhone, some people are saying it will give the Apple phone a run for its money. In fact the last time I checked more than 50 percent of people who voted on Gizmodo’s Helio Ocean vs. Apple iPhone poll had chosen the Helio.

Moscow To Get Wi-Fi Pay Phones

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a pay phone, but then again, I don’t live in Moscow either. After hearing Comstar UTS and Moscow’s City Telephone Network plan to construct 200 Wi-Fi pay phones in Moscow, I was all ears.
RF Design explains how new phone booths scheduled to be installed in Moscow will allow all Comstar customers access to access the internet. The new phone boxes are said to be installed in train stations, airports and hotels as customers will be able to use pre-paid cards, SIM cards and MGTS phone cards to access the internet.
These new and improved pay phones will let people connect to a Wi-Fi network using their laptops.
