3 Mobile and Skype have teamed up with their 3 SkypePhone, a new phone that allows people to use Skype just like they would on their home computer, but now they will not be ties to that computer. Just login to Skype on your phone and do your thing.

Little DeathStars

sembs100 b Little DeathStars

If Darth Vader were a designer, i’m pretty sure this would be his greatest achievement (besides ruling over the galaxy of course). These little balls that oddly mimic the DeathStar are actually speakers. This MBS-100 is Sony Ericsson’s answer to a portable cell phone speaker. The best part about this little guy is that it will actually stream music wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth.

Big deal though, until they can float around using the Force, i’m not interested.

oh, yeah! comment below if you want me to buy you one.

Garmin Phone Makeover

garmin Garmin Phone Makeover

Garmin is about to turn your phone into a great GPS. They are coming out with a new set of microSD cards preloaded with its navigation software and standard maps of the US or Europe. Called the Garmin Mobile XT, it will act like a "real" GPS with turn-by-turn directions, route planning, and voice prompts. At a price of $99, and no additional fees, it seems an attractive alternative.

Thank goodness not everyone is trying to copy the iphone – check out the new line of cellphones designed by Naoto Fukasawa. With a form factor recalling a used bar of soap, Fukasawa has paid considerably more attention to the z-axis than our friends at Apple.

thanks core77

moon call Phone Home

On your next trip to the Moon, grab a cool $30 million bucks for making the first cell phone call from Earth’s natural sattelite.

Google is already offering $30 mill for a successful call and YouNeverCall has added another $10,000. Sounds measley in comparison.

YouNeverCall aims to extend Google’s mission by introducing a new facet. Officials stated that "…by challenging the scientific community with performing an everyday task on the moon, we are going a step further than Google. While the journey itself may be the destination in some sense – we think doing something useful once you get there will also add a little something."

There is a deadline– the call must be placed from the surface of the Moon, using a commercially availble cell phone — all by January 7, 2015.
