Philips has announced a new DAP in their popular GoGear line. The unit features a prism-like motif and integrated Bluetooth 2.1 functionality. The LUXE DAP ill actually pause your music, allowing you to answer your phone if a Bluetooth-enabled device is nearby. It has 10-hours of playback on one charge and 100-hours of standby. It also comes packed in with an FM tuner if you grow weary of the 2GB limit on music.
The device will land in Singapore next month at a suggested retail price of S$139 ($92). Look for it in other Asian countries shortly thereafter.

Philips Simplicity designs green street lamp

Never mind SUVs, everybody knows the real energy hogs of our modern culture. Street lamps. Those insipid gas guzzlers may look inconspicuous, but they are standing there all night every night. Ruining the world one flicker at a time. Philips Simplicity has had enough of that. They’ve unveiled their Light Blossom, a self-sustainable street lamp that is filled with energy-efficient LEDs. It powers itself via solar panels located on top of the lamp. You may have noticed it also looks like a surreal blossoming flower. Once they get enough of these on the streets the world will finally look like a Willy Wonka wonderland. Thank goodness for that.

Light Bright

Are you the creative kid in your office? You know, the one with the office (umm cubicle) that people actually like visiting for meetings? If so, you’ll probably be among the first to order the LivingColors lamp.
Available this September, LivingColors by Philips is a beautiful lighting solution for your office, bedroom, or living room. It’s transparent bowl-like shape holds 4 LEDs, two red, one blue, and one green. You can increase, reduce, brighten, or dim each LED, producing over 16 million different colors!
Mood-changing and seduction-ready (for the hopeful and strategic romantics), the lamp is controlled by radio-frequency remote, meaning you can change settings from anywhere in the room without hassle or perfect aim. And, just in case you forget frequently, the remote itself can ‘remember’ the last setting that you used.
