Treo 700p Maintenance Update Finally Released…

At least for one CDMA provider. With disgruntled 700p users on Palm’s heels for improved Bluetooth support, snappier performance, and overall better system stability, Palm issued their highly sought after firmware update for Sprint users only, leaving Verizon users, such as yours truly, crying in the corner for mommy. Palm has said the Verizon update is "coming soon," which in "Palmspeak" means buy a 755p.
Or maybe Palm wants us to invest in some other contraption.

Apple TV gets 160GB disk… and YouTube too

That’s right, Google’s YouTube is coming to Steve’s little AppleTV "hobby" as he described it during his gig at D. The little treat Steve left out at the show is a new build-to-order 160GB disk; 4x the original capacity offered by Apple at launch. Of course both of these hacks were already available for you DIYers. Still, it’s always good to get it via official channels, eh? The new AppleTV with beefier hard disk will be available tomorrow for $399 while the free YouTube update will be available in mid-June.

Conceptual Flexi PDA boasts rubber hinges, flexible display

Just as Dell calls it quits on the PDA market and flexible displays become more and more common, it makes sense to see a concept device that takes advantage of both opportunities. The Flexi PDA, although still stuck on the drawing board, would present a rubber hinged handheld that could fold open much like a book, giving users a device that’s a bit smaller and deeper than current alternatives. Additionally, the casing could easily be ruggedized in order to add water, dust, and shock proofing abilities for those with less delicate work spaces. As expected, this novelty would also pack a QWERTY keyboard, double as a cellphone, and triple as a media player should it ever hit the market, but for now we’ll just have to settle with the above picture and a faint hint of hope.
