popstar guitar sheath XS Games releases Popstar for Wii

XS Games has just released a Wii game called "Popstar." It’s sort of like "Guitar Hero" but instead of a guitar with four colored buttons on it you get a Wiimote condom with four colored buttons on it. The game has you performing various pop songs by pushing the buttons in tandem with nunchuck attachment. Before you open your window and scream "We’ve seen this before fifty thousand times", word on the street is that it’s actually fun.

MTV’s Patrick Klepek went hands on with the device and did say the functionality was a bit uncomfortable though. Still, the game has an estimated retail price of $59.99. That’s a heck of a lot less than the $200 you’ll be forking down for "Guitar Hero: World Tour."

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Introduced by Nintendo

Nintendo just announced the Wii MotionPlus, which is an accessory for the Wii Remote. The Wii add-on attaches to the bottom of the Wii-mote, and traces motions in 3-D space by allowing the controller to be better oriented. The news release is below:

NINTENDO INTRODUCES THE WII™ MOTIONPLUS
July 14, 2008

Nintendo’s upcoming Wii™ MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote™ controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.

Nintendo should offer more details at the E3 conference taking place tomorrow.

nintendo patent lawsuit wiimote Flannel Boxers?!

Brace yourselves – this guy in the picture doesn’t have pants on, GASP! Who wears flannel boxers anyway? Apparently Pat Connelly (above) does. He is , an ex-Midway employee, who is taking Nintendo to court.  A YouTube video up showing a Pat demonstrating something astoundingly similar to a Wiimote / Nunchuck… eight years ago. His demo shows his hacked-together controllers providing a surprisingly-responsive interface for a bit of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing on the Dreamcast. Connelly, says that he has had no formal involvement with the Wii, but holds the related patents and is taking Nintendo to the BANK.

nintendo20controller1 Just Slap It!

Does anyone remember the origianl Nintendo? Well I do, and it was amazing, it opened up new worlds to me, not to mention it got me into more fights with my siblings than anything ever before in history. Anyway, I also remember that i thrashed my Nintendo so much that you would have to hit it on the side in order to make it work properly. Those who actually have owned one know what i’m talking about. Well, guess what advice the Nintendo company gives when attempting to fix the high-tech and popular Wii controller? Slap it. That’s right – slap it.

It’s no joke. Call them yourself and find out.
