Barack Obama Looking For Ways to Keep His BlackBerry

As reported earlier, the powers that be are trying to strip President-Elect Obama of his beloved BlackBerry. Well, it isn’t gonna go out without a fight. In a recent interview with Barbara Walters, he revealed that he was working to find a solution to the whole surrender-your-cellphones at the door policy.

"One of the things that I’m going to have to work through is how to break through the isolation, the bubble that exists around the president," Obama said. "And I’m in the process of negotiating with the Secret Service, with lawyers, with White House staff … to figure out how can I get information from outside of the 10 or 12 people who surround my office in the White House. Because one of the worst things I think that can happen to a president is losing touch with the struggles that people are going through every day."

No word on how White House officials will take to his insurgence. Maybe he’ll just get a DS and call it a day.

Target Black Friday Ad Leaked – Many Deals to be Had

The ad featuring Target’s Black Friday specials has leaked and there are certainly deals to be had. They are offering a 750GB USB 2.0 drive from WD for $88.88, AND AN 8GB iPod Nano with a $15 gift card for just $145. They are also offering a Nintendo DS with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. for Just $150.

There are other deals as well, get to your local Target on Friday to see what is up.

Nintendo DSi Cracked Open and Parts Examined

Us techies love to see our favorite gadgets broken apart to help us gleam some understanding. The latest gadget to become naked and humiliated is Nintendo’s forthcoming portable DSi, the followup to the popular DS. The DSi features a camera and MP3 player, and from the looks of it, one nifty motherboard. See below for more pictures.

Nintendo Releases DSi in Japan – Notes Summer 2009 Release in America

Nintendo has narrowed the stateside release of it’s DSi handheld to summer of 2009, according to company president Satoru Iwata. Meanwhile, the unit sees release in Japan tomorrow. It will be priced at about ¥18,900 or $192. Nintendo has already shipped 200,000 of the slim, dual-cam handheld device with another 100,000 to follow next week.

Facening Exercises

The new Nintendo DS camera will help you with "facening." That crazy word refers to the game, Face Training, and it is supposed to help improve your appearance through a series of facial exercises. There do not seem to be any other uses for this camera though. Look for it on August 2nd, selling for $39 and in Japan only.

XBox and PS3 Too Complex?

The chief of Square Enix believes the next-generation games consoles are too complex for the new onset of gamers.

"There is a new breed of gamers in the market â€“ we have to make games for all kinds of people,â€ said Mr Wada, in an interview with the FT. â€œIn the old days, we could just focus on the PlayStation or the GameBoy, but the environment has changed completely.â€

The developers of the infamous Final Fantasy series will instead be focusing on handheld games, such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Dragon Quest IX. The Nintendo DS will be their biggest priority, believing there are many features that can be exploited as supposed to the big–game consoles.

Nintendo DS Browser

The Nintendo DS is more than just a mobile game console. Now you have quick portable access to the web via the new DS browser, a $30 add-on packaged as a game cartridge. It features a dual screen to view sites in either Overview mode, which presents the complete web site on the lower screen with the highlighted area zoomed in on the upper screen, or with Opera’s Small-Screen Rendering, where the upper and lower screens are combined to act like a single display.

Since the DS already includes Wi-Fi, this browser add-on is capable of accessing the Web on a home wireless network, at one of the free Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection hotspots, or at public access hotspots.

Scott Hedrick, EVP Marketing, Opera Software says Nintendo is continuing to expand the usability of the platform. "DS Browser makes it easy to check news, popular user generated content sites or comparison shop while in a Wi-Fi hotspot," he added.

The browser is available for both the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite systems. Both can be found on Nintendo.com, while the browser for DS Lite is also available at locations where video games are sold.
