Internet Radio is super cool, my favorite is Pandora. Anyways,  FlyTunes is simply a web application accessible via Safari, which allows users to customize stations on their PC / Mac and then login and listen from the phone. Pretty sweet for you iphone junkies.

Oh yeah, did i mention the service is free?

radiator21 Cool Coffee Mug (literally)

You know what sucks? Burning the hell out of your hand when you’re trying to pick up a steaming cup of coffee. You know why that happens? Lousy mug design. Well, and you not paying attention to the very hot object in front of you, but let’s blame design this time.

Believe it or not, this Radiator Mug is the first mug that’s designed to keep your soft, dainty palms safe from being horribly burned by your morning pep juice. The ridges on the side help spread the heat out, so it’s not all on a flat s urface just waiting to hurt you so, so badly. Sure, $25 is a lot for a mug, but it’s worth saving those lovely hands of yours.

080104 4 Warner Bros goes Exclusive

I just got a press release from Time Warner letting us all know that Warner Bros has chosen to go exclusive with the blu-ray format starting on the 1st of June. I guess this move will make the HD DVD team go bananas especially since Warner declares that the format war is over and that the blu-ray team has won. Read more here

solartree11 Tree Lights

love Europe in that special way only someone who’s lived exclusively in the United States for 25-odd years really can. Yet another fabulous reason to love Europe are these solar powered light trees, spotted last October in Vienna (as well as in Milan in November and December). Designed by Ross Lovegrove, each tree has 10 branches, and each branch has a solar cell (artemide polycrystalline solar cells by Sharp) “petal” on top. During the day, the petals charge built-in batteries, and as soon as the sun goes down, LEDs under the petals light up, providing efficient and cost effective street lighting, especially since the installation costs are minimal (no wiring necessary). The trees are able to provide light even after several consecutive cloudy days, although there aren’t any specifics on how much power the panels generate.

thanks Evan!

porsche sled Porsche Sled

The way I see it, if you’re going to brave the freezing temperatures while climbing a steep hill for some sledding action, why not do it in style? Like Ferrari, Porsche must have realized there’s not a lot of money to be made selling their low-priced sports cars, so marketing their brand name and design prowess was probably the only way the company could pay the bills.

The sled itself has a very aerodynamic design, with metal runners and an actual suspension system on the front, steerable skid. There’s even a horn to make sure other riders get out the way when you’re careening down the hill. And while you might think that’s frivolous, if you hit someone and they see you’re wealthy enough to be riding a Porsche sled, you can guarantee there’ll be an expensive lawsuit on your hands for all their pain and suffering.

-Thanks OGizmo for the info
