Multi-touch Eee PC Coming Next Year

In an interview with LAPTOP MAG, ASUS CEO Jerry Shen revealed that the company will be releasing touchscreen versions of the computer that we have all come to love, the Eee PC.
Shen revealed that the company is planning on releasing some models with multi-touch capabilities as early as Q1 2009, but those models will also be thicker in dimensions with the add-on feature. He confirmed that eee pc’s will be geared for Windows 7 in the future.
He also said eee pc MAY come in tablet form or in another undisclosed form factor. Maybe that other form factor is the same as the one pictured above.

Microsoft May Sell Surface for Consumers

A Microsoft market research survey suggests that the company might be looking into selling Surface devices aimed at consumers. The device, code named "Oahu," would be a consumer version of the advanced multi-touch computer that until now has only been used by companies like AT&T for in-store promotions. It looks like Microsoft is looking to start furnishing your house.
"Oahu can come as a freestanding table, placed into a piece of furniture, or built into a countertop. The type of Oahu devices we are asking about today are not portable but if they are furniture or tables, they can be placed anywhere in your home."
The survey suggests a $1,499 price tag for Oahu.
