electric motorsport gpr s Electric Motorsport releases GPR S e motorcycle for $8,000

Electric Motorsport has released the fairly inexpensive GPR-S e-motorcycle. They’ve definitely taken a mass market approach with the bike. It boasts a 60-70 MPH top speed and a 35-60 mile range. This makes it great for commuter rides, and not so great to visit your grandmother three states away. It can charge in about four hours, or 1.5 hours if you use an optional speed charger.

The GPR-S is also modular in fashion, meaning you can plug and play other devices into the bike as they become available. Kind of cool. Like an Apple bike.

The company has sold 25 so far but they are currently available and as stated before, only a paltry $8,000. What are you waiting for? The Sturgis Rally is coming up.

For $6,900 you can get your hands on – or your seat onto – a Zero X …the quiet electric bike touted as having “the world’s best acceleration, agility and durability of any in the motorcycle in the market, electric or gas.”

Powered by a lithium-ion battery, it weighs 120 pounds, goes from 0-50 miles in “a flash” and best of all for your neighbors (or sneaking into the house), it is silent.

Okay, that’s not true. It’s actually just a hub in the shape of a motorcycle engine that makes (unrealistic, I’m sure) obnoxious engine sounds. The novelty would likely wear off in about, oh, the first few minutes, and I think I’m being generous. If it makes it to the US at its current Japanese price, it’ll be about $43. Again, from SolidAlliance, in case you want to avoid them out of sheer principle.

The Stealth Motorcycle is a lithium ion powered beast. Well, maybe not beast…maybe more of a beast jr. or beast cub. Because any motorcycle that can’t top 50mph is just a moped in our book. While I love the concept and even like the design, I shuddered when the word "chopper" was used to describe a virtually silent motorcycle. Let’s get this baby up to 88 miles per hour then maybe we’ll talk.

My preference is the electric-powered all lithium ion battery Tesla Roadster is capable of rocketing to 60mph in just 4-seconds, with a top speed of 130mph. Best of all, it’s rated at 135mpg and has a 250-mile range fully charged (3.5-hours). Click below to see the amazing video of the Tesla Roadster…
