LG unveils bizarre double-sided LCD display

LG recently decided to show off their oft-rumored double-sided LCD panel. The display can be seen from both sides! Totally needless and cool. The unit is also skinnier than a supermodel. Alas, the company was just in "see what we can do" mode as no mention was made regarding release date or price.
Although it’s difficult to think of practical uses for the technology, it sure would help the world look more like a sci-fi movie. Utopian, not dystopian. That’s never a bad thing.
Around View Monitors

Infiniti’s SUV/Crossover EX35 sports a new Around View Monitor system with cameras at the front, rear, and sides of the vehicle, to help with parking…or spying.
ARANZ Medical Makes Star Trek Medical Scanner

I dare you to tell me that this doesn’t look exactly like that medical scanner that Bones used in the original Star Trek series. He’d wave this thing over someone’s body and could immediately diagnose whatever was or wasn’t wrong. Of course, that’s not really the case here, as this device is designed to monitor the healing of wounds by measuring a wound’s width and depth without physical contact. By storing the data, the wound healing progression can be more easily tracked and treatments adjusted, making this laser-based device well worth its $6,000 pricetag.
BestBuy’s Best Buy
