Earth Trek has dubbed their webcam the "hottest webcam" in the world. All boasts aside, it’s still a pretty nifty unit. It packs a 1.3-megapixel camera, VGA capture abilities, auto focus / auto brightness and a 2-port USB hub. Those extra peripheral ports sure do seem handy.

The unit is on sale now for a measly $45. Go get your cam on.

Nikon D3x Medium-Format Camera Gets Formally Announced – Specs Leaked

The long rumored and medium-format friendly Nikon D3x will be profiled in an upcoming issue of Nikon Pro Magazine. The information has leaked and details have surfaced regarding the coming super-camera. The features list is exhausted, including 24.5-megapixels, 51-point autofocus and a 922,000-dot LCD screen. Here are some more specs:

• World’s highest-res SLR with Live View
• 51-point MultiCAM3500FX autofocus system
• Scene Recognition System
• Expeed 16-bit processing to handle detail on the 75MB image files
• 3-inch, 922,000-dot LCD
• 35.9mm x 24mm FX format sensor (If you can’t think in metric, that’s 1.4" x 0.94")
• Weather-resistant magnesium body
• Designed for medium-format shooting
• ISO range of 100-1600 with a Lo1 (equivalent to ISO 50) with boosts up to ISO 6400
• 24.5-megapixel shooting at up to 5fps; cropped 10-megapixel shooting at up to 7fps
• 12ms start-up time; 41ms shutter-release lag time
• Writes files to dual CF slots at 35MB/s
• USB 2.0, HDMI and AV-out jacks, with 10-pin terminal for GPS and other accessories
• Same lithium-ion battery as D3

The camera isn’t due until next year so sit tight.

AT&T Confirms it Will be Offering Symbian S60-based Nokia 6650 on Contract Tomorrow

AT&T will be offering the Symbian S60 on contract. The carrier will be bringing the S60-based Nokia 6650 into its lineup soon, the company made official today. The 3G-capable 6650 comes in red and silver and will be available for purchase tomorrow. It comes with a 2-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch QVGA display, AT&T Navigator, Video Share and a Mobile Music system. It costs $69.99 with a 2-year agreement.

Samsung Cleo Finally Launches – Canada Only

The Samsung Cleo has long been rumored for a release, but nobody could have predicted it’d be a Canadian exclusive. This fashion-conscious square flip phone includes a QWERTY keyboard, color LCD screen, 1.3-megapixel camera, MP3 playback, and expandable memory up to 8GB. More importantly, the attractive 2.5-inch by 3-inch phone comes in a variety of colors, including champagne. The phone has officially been launched in Canada, but there is still no word on pricing.

Mintpass Releases their Touchscreen-enabled Digital Note Taker in South Korea

South Korean tech company Mintpass has released their Mintpad, a digitized note taker. The gadget allows you to take and share notes on the fly, using a fully-functional touchscreen. In addition, the Mintpad has WiFi, a media player, 1.3-megapixel camera, microphone, built-in speaker and 4GB of memory with microSD expansion. The 320 x 240 touchscreen measures 2.9-inches of pure note-passing goodness.

Currently, the unit is only available in South Korea for about $156. No word on when it will legitimately reach these shores.

Motorola Zine ZN5 Hits T-Mobile With 5 Megapixel Camera

With all the commotion about the release of the Blackberry Bold and upcoming Storm, Motorola’s MOTOZINE ZN5 has been placed on the backburner. Starting today though, you will be able to pick up one of these phones at T-Mobile locations or online for only $99 with a two year contract.

For those of you unfamiliar with this phone, it features a 5 megapixel auto-focus Kodak camera with Xenon flash, WiFi, quad-band GSM/EDGE, FM Radio, TV-Out and built-in Kodak instant WiFi uploading to their photo sharing website.

I haven’t been too impressed with Motorola phones in the past but I’m excited and intrigued about the inclusion of a camera in a phone that actually has the ability to take good pictures. Enough of 2 and 3 megapixel cameras with an LED flash. I think Motorola has done it right for once.

ASUS Announces 14.1-inch B80A Business Laptop for Corporate Elite

ASUS has announced the 14.1-inch B80A business laptop, just months after their business-minded B50A was released. The B80A will only be released in an all-black model and offers a 14.1-inch WXGA (or WXGA+) display, a choice between several Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM. The computer also boasts a SATA hard drive ranging from 160GB to 250GB, a dual-layer DVD writer, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and a 6-cell battery. In addition the unit will feature a consumer-friendly HDMI output, a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint reader.

ASUS has yet to come clean on pricing or a release date.

T-Mobile Offers Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5 for $99 With Contract

T-Mobile has officially become the first carrier in North America to offer Motorola’s MOTOZINE ZN5. The ZN5 is a quadband EDGE handset with WiFi, a morphing keypad and a 5-megapixel camera. The camera features xenon flash and a suite of Kodak imaging software. T-Mobile is only charging $99 for the unit, however that deal comes with the promise of a two year contract. Look for the ZN5 in T-Mobile stores and online starting today.

Fujtsu unleashes LifeBook p8020 to trim away nasty edges

Thank goodness somebody is addressing the wasted-space/elongated edges problem attacking our laptops. Each laptop has at least a centimeter or so of wasted space on those edges. That adds up! Worry no longer. Fujitsu understands

The company is set to release the LifeBook p8020. It’s a 12.1-inch ultraportable laptop that most certainly trims away those nasty edges. It’s a bit chubbier than we’d like but there is a lot underneath the hood. It features a Centrino 2 processor, 320GB HDD, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi , Bluetooth, gigabit Ethernet, a fingerprint reader, DVD burner, gesture-friendly trackpad and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. Phew! And not to mention a screen that extends right to the end of the computer with minimal wasted space.

It will come out this November at an expected retail price of $1,799.

Introducing the Pharos’ Traveller 117 and 127 WinMo phones

Back in the halcyon days of, oh, eighteen months ago, the Pharos’ line of GPS-equipped Windows Mobile Handsets were the coolest thing going. Imagine a phone that knows where you are! It was like magic. Then came the iPhone and it’s ilk, all of whom were also rocking some serious GPS mojo. The Pharos’ line stopped seeming magical and started seeming like the way a bar looks when they turn the main lights on in order to scare the last few alcoholics out for the night.

No more! Pharos’ is back with the Dell powered Traveller 117 and Traveller 127. Sure, they come equipped with AGPS out of the box. That’s not what makes them special though. The Traveller series also possesses a VGA display, tri-band 7.2Mbps downstream HSPA and a 2-megapixel VGA front facing-camera.

They are for sale "covertly" at the Dell online store. Shh. Don’t tell anybody I told you.
