So says David Thiel, senior security consultant with iSEC Partners, at a recent Black Hat hacker conference.

"The actual potential for attack is reasonably severe because nobody cares about actually playing videos from YouTube or playing music on Web pages – you can’t get music to stop playing at you," he said. "Because this stuff is launched automatically, I think the impact could be significant."
"This is the next logical place to attack," Moss said. "People know not to open strange documents, but they click on MP3s all day long."

The hope is now that these findings have been published, the companies will find the flaws in their players and patch them quickly.

© Copyright <a

It’s a bit larger, but sports a three-inch QVGA touchscreen, three-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a multimedia player. It also supports microSD memory cards.
For a third of the price, it looks good to me!

This hard drive-based portable media player comes with 40GB worth of storage space and plays H.264 format videos on its 4" display. While the P-3000 gets three hours of playback time for video, it performs at double that time for audio, nothing impressive to be sure, as the disparity between video and audio playback time is usually much more than that. Forking out $499 for it seems pretty steep. I think most people would prefer to stick to their 80GB iPod Videos despite the smaller screen size.

© Copyright <a
