Kenyatta Hillman was pulled over for speeding in Orange County, California. After the police detected the odor of marijuana, they searched his car and found no trace of drugs. They did, however, decide his stolen Xbox 360 would make a fine surrogate. What’s the problem then?

It wasn’t stolen. They assumed it was because obviously people whose cars reek of drugs also steal consumer electronics devices. Hillman went to the police station later with a receipt to prove ownership of the system but the Xbox was still "lost in transit." No word on if Hillman has gotten the system back yet.
