Chip Supplier Ramjet Confirms 6GB Support for New Macbooks

Chip supplier Ramjet has tested and officially confirmed that the new Macbok and Macbook Pros can support 6GB RAM via one 2GB module and one 4GB module. The systems have been shown to be unsupportive of 8GB of RAM, however. Attempting 8GB, according to Ramjet, has been rendering the OS unusable.
Ramjet recommends you obtain the 6GB by utilizing a new 4GB 1066 SO-DIMM paired with a 2GB. A company representative says the performance gained by having the extra two gigs more than negates the loss that comes from having an unmatched pair. The 4GB/2GB combo will set you back around $675.

Axiotron Modservice will Convert Your Used Macbook into a ModBook Tablet

If you have a spare Macbook laying around, Axiotron will replace it with one of their new ModBook tablets. Prices, after trade, start at around $1,300. This is significantly better than the unit’s usual price of $2,290. Modification kits are being sent out to a network of authorized modders, and a local representative will contact you once you place an order for the upgrade. The service, however, will not be applicable for newer aluminum Macbook models. Sorry early adopters.

New Macbook Pro battery has less juice than old one

File this in the "not how things usually go" department. It seems the rechargeable battery in the new Macbook Pro has sixteen percent less battery power than it’s older, clunkier cousin. This goes against the natural order of things! Everything in the world of computing has to always advance in a straight line up, except for Nintendo products.
The old battery was rated at 5600mAh/60Wh, but the new ones are rated at 4700mAh/50Wh. This will affect real world performance and probably increase your need to replace the things in the future. Kind of a bummer.
