Real Light Sabers?!
Recently, I was watching a little movie called Star Wars and I got to thinkin’. Why in our age of radical technological know how do we not have light sabers? What’s up with that? We have a version of an invisible cloak, sweet blue ray DVD players, and the Nintendo Wii for goodness sakes! But no light saber? I mean come on, it’s every geek/nerd/dork fantasy. To be able to cut through a wall of bullies with your very own light saber! How hard can it be? There is even a website that actually tells you how it’s made, how to wield it, different styles to try, challenges, and even it’s everyday uses.

Let’s pull it together! Let’s actually make these elegant weapons coveted by nerds everywhere a reality. We have the technology, and You Tube is full of people filming themselves having light saber duels. The public is yearning… no…crying out for light sabers! I feel it is my duty as a resident of this planet to let it be known that light sabers are cool and we want them!
may the force be with you

NerdFind – Space Man Moppel LED Light

This is just what every person needs: a little robot man to hold your things and give you a lighting source at the same time. The Space Man Moppel, at about 12 inches tall, looks slightly (okay, very much) like an extra from a cheap sci-fi movie and greets you with very spindly arms, legs and head. The legs sticks by magnet so you can attach the Space Man Moppel to the desk or table, or anywhere you require your new servant. One arm is attached to a sturdy alligator clip and the other arm comes with kung-fu grip. Well, not exactly, but you can place a pen, or some paper clips in it. Same thing, really. The head glows with luminous LED light when the appropriate button is pushed. Too bad it can’t talk.
The Space Man Moppel retails at $29.99 and uses one 9V battery, which is included.

See In The Dark With Brightfeet Lighted Slippers

How fantastic are these? Now when you stumble out of bed at two am for a stroll to the bathroom or fridge, you’ll have something to light the way for you!
The brightfeet lighted slippers are equipped with long-lasting battery-operated LED bulbs which light up only in the dark while you are standing in them. Basically, it’s like having slippers with headlights … just think of all the money you’ll save on flashlights and night lights. These slippers look relatively cozy and comfortable and come in small, medium, and large for men and women. Priced at $40.
By night I recommend the brightfeet lighted slippers, and by day the Hello Kitty USB Foot Warmers below.

Swimming Pool Lamps that Float

The archetype of a table lamp now floats in a swimming pool. Waterproof is designed by Hector Serrano for Metalarte. Watch them bob gently on the surface like ghostly lamps. The rechargeable lamps are moulded from tough, waterproof polyethylene and cost around $450 each. Darkness would be cheaper but not half as cool or half as much fun. The lamps provide light for 6 hours.
These lamps would make for a wonderful late night pool party. Now all I need is a pool.
