Kids really like sugar - really dislike Windows XP

An editor at Cnet gave his 8 year old daughter the choice between an OLPC XO laptop running Windows XP and one running the Sugar UI. She chose Sugar. Ok, this isn’t exactly the scientific method but the Sugar interface certainly makes more sense than that dreary ’ole XP interface.

Hello Kitty Tire

Short and sweet: here is a bicycle tire with Hello Kitty treads. Before you say how useless this is - wait! It’s a tire and that goes on a bike. Gets your kids outdoors, moving, interacting. It’s a good thing, a very good thing.

Sharp’s KD-E1 e-dictionary

Sharp is offering up a new e-dictionary model in the KIDSDIC series. The KD-E1 features an internal speaker, headphone jack, color display, several mini-games, stories, and songs to keep your kid intrigued in between vowels. A Korean model for now, it costs $397.
