British Photographer Robbie Cooper used his RED camera to illustrate that look of total concentration kids tend to get when they are playing an engrossing video game. Adults make faces too, but kids are more photogenic.

Robbie photographed the kids as they played games such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Call of Duty 4. He placed his camera behind a pane of glass so the kids wouldn’t be self-conscious about the giant hunk of RED goodness pointed right at them.

This would be filed squarely in the "duh" department if we were talking about sugar, the stuff that makes candy taste so good. However, we are talking about the Linux-based Sugar UI. That probably wouldn’t make candy taste so good. We could try though.

An editor at Cnet gave his 8 year old daughter the choice between an OLPC XO laptop running Windows XP and one running the Sugar UI. She chose Sugar. Ok, this isn’t exactly the scientific method but the Sugar interface certainly makes more sense than that dreary ’ole XP interface.

Speaking of, Amazon’s "Give One, Get One" program will be limited to the Linux UI. So that works out, considering the kiddies like it so much.

Short and sweet: here is a bicycle tire with Hello Kitty treads. Before you say how useless this is – wait! It’s a tire and that goes on a bike. Gets your kids outdoors, moving, interacting. It’s a good thing, a very good thing.

Perpetual Kids found out a way to make hoola hoops portable..why would anyone ever do this? Who knows but you can get one for about $50.

Sharp is offering up a new e-dictionary model in the KIDSDIC series. The KD-E1 features an internal speaker, headphone jack, color display, several mini-games, stories, and songs to keep your kid intrigued in between vowels. A Korean model for now, it costs $397.
