Apple Fails to Approve Google Voice Search iPhone App for Friday Release

Google’s cool voice search app for the iPhone did not make it to the Apple Store this past Friday. Apple has apparently left Google completely in the dark as to why it failed to make the cut. The app was still lingering in "In Review" status limbo when the release date came and went.
This comes hot on the heels of rumors speculating that Apple has been entirely too hard on the companies that make apps for the iPhone. Neither company has released any word regarding the matter but the NYTimes will have a piece on the subject shortly.

App Released that Allows You to Control Rovio With iPhone or iPod Touch – Free

A new app is available which allows users to control their Rovio from the comfort of their iPhone or iPod Touch. This comes as no surprise to those of you used to controlling the bot via WowWee’s browser-based interface. However, the app is a full-fledged program that gives you a larger view of the Rovio’s webcam feed, and even allows you to use the iPhone or iPod Touch’s built-in accelerometer to control it. The app is free and available now.

Last Call iPhone App Warns You Upon Getting Too Drunk

Last Call is a new iPhone app that determines how drunk you are by your weight and how many drinks you’ve consumed. It calculates your sobriety by the specific type of alcoholic beverage you’ve consumed, and it even gives you options on what to do now that you are inebriated. The app will even call a taxi for you if it determines you’ve had a few too many. And unlike a DUI, it’s absolutely free. The app is available now at the iPhone app store.
