Detergent-Less Washer By Haier

Haier! Haier! Something revolutionary has arrived.  Would you believe it if someone told you they had a washing machine that would clean your dirty laundry without any soap?  Well, Haier has something proven that will be out on the market very soon.  The WasH20 breaks down water molecules into its OH- and H=+ ions where the OH- acts as the cleansing agent while the H=+ sanitizes.  Wouldn’t this be detrimental to the detergent industry?  Everyone will want one and think about the enviromental benefits.  Priced out at a grand or so, it’ll be a hot seller.

Robot Practices for Future Missions by Sorting Packages

yaskawa worker bot Robot Practices for Future Missions by Sorting Packages

Yaskawa Electric, a.k.a. "Our Robotic Overloards," has put its Motoman-DIA10 robot to work sorting packages. I predict that this is just practice for future missions, a proof of concept, if you will. Because, really, why would a package-sorting robot require a human-like face? Most truly industrial robots are minimalist in their designs, incorporating only those features that are necessary for performing a given task. Where’s Will Smith when we need him? Or, this is just a multipurpose robot being put to one specific task, but then, that’s not quite so exciting, is it?
