Aibo Running The Maze

The AIBO, the cute little doggy-like device that acts similar to the real animal, has been given a new identity. Alfredo Weitzenfeld, a researcher at the ITAM technical institute, implanted a rat-like protocol into the AIBO software, eliminating the dog-like behaviors. This is said to work slightly better, as real rats have the natural ability to recognize places it has been to before (hence the reason why they are used as test subjects in mazes). This new study will help to increase robot awareness, hopefully to map present and past locations in a sort of internal map.
Infamous PSP modder Retires

Dark AleX, a modder responsible for several well-known PSP hacks, has called it quits after being accosted a few too many times by Sony personnel. Dark AleX gave a short message on his website explaining that modding has been taking too much of his time, and with persistence from Sony, found himself unable to continue.
"I think it is up to users to make the correct decisions about how to use my software," says Alejandro. "I believe in the presumption of innocence, unlike the media companies."

Pandigital Offers Mother of all Digital Frames

Pandigital is releasing a line of digital photo frames that offer some real functionality and expandability. Add Bluetooth or Wi-Fi modules to stream photos and video, snap in a battery pack for portability, and relish the built-in programmability that all combine to make this one frame worth considering. Prices are $120 at the low end and $300 at the high end, presumably based on the size of the frame, with the modules costing from $40 to $50. Reasonable, and functional–a good combination.
On the Catwalk

Diesel’s Summer/Spring ’08 catwalk featured human models with CGI accompaniment. The creatures, animated holograms that were visible from both sides of the stage, interacted with the models during the aquatic-themed show. Barcelona animation studio Dvein worked with Danish production agency Vizoo to create the whimsical effects.
Remember during the last part of the Haunted House ride in Disneyland, you’d look in a mirror and see ghosts sitting next to you? I guess this is like that. But replace sunburned, fanny-packed tourists with people who look really, really hungry and mad.
The 2008 BMW 1-Series Coming Soon

The new BMW series has been made public, with mixed anticipation from the public. The available models include the 128i and 135i Coupe. The series boasts "aggressive rear end styling" and twin-turbo, 3-liter inline 6 with 300 horses and equal level of torque. Unlike most cars, however, it doesn’t contain a US diesel.
They certainly look good, but can it drive good? This is the most important question of them all.
