SE Xperia Panel Interface Modded to Work on HTC Touch HD – Video

Several modders at the xda-developers forum have taken on a rather ridiculous project. They’ve gotten the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 panel interface to work on the HTC Touch HD. From watching the video, it looks like X1 installs, launches and works without too much of a speed difference. The panel interface actually seems more at home on the Touch HD’s roomier screen, actually.
Both companies would be enraged about this, but in the spirit of Thanksgiving, check out the video and see if it’s something you’d like to try out.

Sprint Releases HTC Touch Pro Smartphone Online and at Sprint Stores

As promised, Sprint has made their HTC Touch Pro phone available for purchase online today. The base retail price of the QWERTY smartphone is $579.99, however consumers can redeem an "instant savings" of $180 combined with a $100 mail-in-rebate to bring the price down to $299.99. This, obviously, necessitates the usual two year contract. The phones are also available in person at Sprint stores.

Sprint HTC Touch Pro faces delay

Those of you looking forward to, um, tomorrow’s launch of the Sprint HTC Touch Pro, prepare for a bubble burst. It’s not happening. Sprint cites the reason as an inventory issue. That’s certainly better than if the reason was a bug that caused your data service to only open e-mail by purveyors of penis pills. That’d be bad.
Sprint says to look for the device, for real this time, in early November. Let’s hold them to that.

HTC Touch Hopes to Touch iPhone

HTC announced today that it’s touch-screen smartphone, the HTC Touch, will be available in the US by the end of the year. The HTC Touch uses touch-screen technology supposedly similar to that of the iPhone, and has a nifty user interface based on a rotating cube. HTC boasts that the HTC Touch is the world’s first touch phone. Hear that, Apple? FIRST. Sorry iPhone. I didn’t mean that. I still love you.
HTC hopes to compete with the iPhone, and since it’s packing the whole Windows package, it may offer a certain level of PC integration that allows it to do just that. However, even with all it’s fancy rotating cubes, some critics (me) remain skeptical.
