Montreal is already set to become the "first Canadian city to deliver wireless Internet and mobile IP telephony to residents."

Radioactif and Nomad Telecom are joining forces to deploy the network across the metropolitan area, first available to the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood.

By 2009, it is expected that the network will cover nearly 300 square kilometers of Montreal and service "around 90-percent" of its citizens.

The price tag on this goodie is expected to cost users "under $30 per month" when it launches in September.

Worlds Most Advanced Racing and Entertainment Simulator

6 15 07 vrx Worlds Most Advanced Racing and Entertainment Simulator

Or so the VRX site says. This impressive looking racing sim is designed with a Forza Motorsports 2 theme and three 37-inch Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD TVs. The frame is constructed from CNC machined polished aluminum, and envelopes the gamer by curiously including just one Sparco seat along with four Xbox 360 Elites, four copies of Forza Motorsport 2, an Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on player, camera / wireless headset, a Zune, force feedback wheel, and surround sound as well.

I didn’t find anything even remotely related to a price tag, so perhaps if we have to ask we can’t afford it! Btw, there is a sales email link onsite, just in case your curiosity gets the better of you. — VRX

UK Lightning Car Co’s Electric Cars

Meet the new Lightning GT, an all-electric car powered by Altairnano Nanosafe batteries.

Arthur Wolstenholme, Technical Director at Lightning explains, "Ten, or perhaps even five years ago, electric power was dismissed as a poor substitute for petrol, diesel or LPG. But the world has moved on significantly – from military and aerospace applications, electric motor and battery technologies have been developed that will enable the Lightning to demonstrate 700 plus bhp performance over a range that exceeds some of today’s petrol performance cars. What’s more, the Lightning is intended to compete with premium market sport cars, but our electric power should outstrip the response rates, torque characteristics and driveability of most exotic performance super cars. Electric power has truly arrived in the performance market."

The Lightning Car Co plans three models: a Grand Tourer, the Lightning Sport is the GT’s lightweight, purposeful cousin, with the ability to achieve 0-60 in under 4 seconds. The third Lightning will be an extended range model, with the capability of reaching an estimated 250 miles on a single 10 minute charge.

Performance is not sacrificed either with stats of 0-60 in under 4 seconds. The purchase price is also expected to less than conventional cars.

Don’t rush out to find a local dealer just yet. While orders are being accepted, delivery is will be sometime in 2008.

ps3 homebrew 1 Attacks on PS3

Hackers have pierced Sony’s PS3 anti-piracy defenses by cracking 1.10 and 1.11 firmwares enabling the console to boot illegal game copies.

Granted, they were not able to play, but Sony is taking this very seriously.

"Unfortunately, hackers will try to exploit any hardware system software," SCEA spokesperson Dave Karraker told GamesIndustry.biz.
"The best we can do as a company is to make our security that much stronger and aggressively pursue legal action against anyone caught trying to use an exploit in an illegal manner."

The neverending battle continues…

The "world’s smallest" full HD projector – 2.7” tall, 9.2” deep and 10.8” wide – is projectdesign’s new baby. It is available but there is no pricing information (never a good sign).

It also uses TI’s 0.95-inch 1080p DMD, the firm’s proprietary RealColor technology, and is compatible with home automation systems with RS-232 and IP interfaces.

Additionally, it sports a 10-bit video processing engine, HDMI 1.3 compatibility, 1,000 lumens, and a even-segment, 5x color wheel.
