Cell Tower Related Illnesses?

It may all "be in your head" according to some "experts" but the symptoms described by people who claimed these cell towers were causing illness, were still experiencing real symptoms and effects.
A recent study done by Britain’s Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that they could find no scientific evidence that feelings of anxiety, nausea, and fatigue were at all caused by electronics, or GSM and 3G cell phone equipment.
"Belief is a very powerful thing," said Professor Elaine Fox, of the University of Essex, who led the three-year study.
"If you really believe something is going to do you some harm, it will."
Campaign group Mast Sanity said "history has shown that many now commonly accepted physical conditions were initially dismissed as psychological".
"Isn’t it time that the government woke up to the reality of electrosensitivity instead of attempting to persuade sufferers that it is all in their minds?" said spokeswoman Yasmin Skelt.
So, nothing has really been solved.
Simply Amazing Accomplishment – Bionic Legs

Not much to say about this, really. This man lost his legs to an accident, and now he’s walking again–albeit with the assistance of some bionic legs and a walker. Technology can be truly amazing stuff.
I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up

Korea announced a new sensor system for seniors designed to detect falls involving true cellphone technology which triggers a series of calls to be set in motion at the first sign of trouble. The first call goes to the senior in question to ask if there is a problem, one to a hospital’s emergency center, and one to the person’s family. A really good feature is the integrated GPS allowing the possibly injured person to be easily located.
The Bionic Arm

DARPA is in the works to create the superior prosthetic arm by 2009. One prototype have been tested so far, with a second prototype in the works for a summer run. The prosthetic arm was tested by Jesse Sullivan, who lost both of his arms in an accident. Not only was Sullivan able to move the arm as if it were his own, the arm sent feedback to his brain that triggered the sense of touch.
In order for bionic arms to work, the users will have to be "bionic" as well, with surface electrodes holding tiny sensors being placed into the body. So, yes, it is quite possible that in the future, the "bionic man" will be alive and well and not just a concept.

Shoes for High Schoolers?

This piece of technology is for all you runners out there. It’s called Bright-Walk, and it’s a shoe that converts the impact energy from running (or walking) into static electricity that lights up.
Pretty cool huh? I say forget the runners and health freaks though, how about give it to all those high schoolers that hang out in the parking lots across the street from Safeway! (you know who you are) Now, all those concerned parents will be able to spot curfew breakers a mile away! Take that young whipper snappers.
Until next time…
