Animated Transformers T-Shirt

To sort of follow-up on the Transformers Mr. Potato Head post, I will present the Animated Transformers Shirt. It comes in either Autobot or Decepticon (both on black shirts), and they actually light up in succession (by way of a 2 AAA battery pack on the inside of the shirt). Check out the website to see the shirt in motion.

Gear up Star Trek Fans!

This is great. A lightweight, compact, bendable wrappable, convenient tripod. Planning a trip to the Star Trek convention this year? Well, don’t forget this cool Gorillapod, as you can see it fits snuggly anywhere, so now you can Capt. Kirk (is that how you spell his name?) can get the "prom" picture you always wanted without the help of anyone else. It’s price is about $25 bucks, but it’s all worth it.

Rome – Now in 3D!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve hit that level of nerd where I start to geek out over totally sweet historical stuff. There’s just something about things that really old that makes me drool. I think it has something to do with my massive ego and things that have stood the test of time being amongst the very few things that can make me feel inferior, but that is the subject of an entirely different post. This is about Rome.Â
Having been to Rome in the real world, I was sorely disappointed at how much of the history was no longer intact. Well thanks to the University of Virginia I can now explore ancient Rome at the height of its prosperity, without ever having to take off my pjs. UVA, in conjunction with some other folks, has constructed the world’s largest digital model of an ancient city. You don’t have to be a history nerd to think this is totally sweet.
Now, if you are anything like me (not the weird history stuff, just in general), then it’ll only take about 15 seconds before the following thought crops up in the old noggin: Spice up the graphics, sell it to Rockstar Games, and BAM. GTA: Rome. Think about it. Sweet.

The new models offer access to POP3 and IMAP4 email and third-party software like Winamp.
With prices from $99.95 to $149.95, it might be the gift for the Geek who has everything.

Real Light Sabers?!
Recently, I was watching a little movie called Star Wars and I got to thinkin’. Why in our age of radical technological know how do we not have light sabers? What’s up with that? We have a version of an invisible cloak, sweet blue ray DVD players, and the Nintendo Wii for goodness sakes! But no light saber? I mean come on, it’s every geek/nerd/dork fantasy. To be able to cut through a wall of bullies with your very own light saber! How hard can it be? There is even a website that actually tells you how it’s made, how to wield it, different styles to try, challenges, and even it’s everyday uses.

Let’s pull it together! Let’s actually make these elegant weapons coveted by nerds everywhere a reality. We have the technology, and You Tube is full of people filming themselves having light saber duels. The public is yearning… no…crying out for light sabers! I feel it is my duty as a resident of this planet to let it be known that light sabers are cool and we want them!
may the force be with you
